A must visit place for everyone who love art and keen to know various art forms of Bihar.
Nice place in Bihar to develop and educate our rich culture and heritage in the area of art and crafts , unfortunately though they have excellent infrastructures and space because of government apathy it's in dipleated state nt many people know about it . Today went with help of Google map for summer cam even the floor and corridors it seems not mopped for last many weeks see few pics i have uploaded , four star as it's of my Bihar culture
Bihar's best handicraft and painting institute runs by Bihar Government. They will provide many grants to the artists and support them to sell their products. It's located inside patliputra industrial area near Asian Super Specialty Hospital. Even tourists can also visit these premises and see the live artist who is working on their things. This is a proud institute of Bihar.
The collection of Arts pieces is around 100 years old. These rare handicraft collection can be found inside UMSAS museum only.
It was really a good place to experience live art and handcrafted things.
Students of any age group can come and learn any art here. The institute follow it's curriculum very well. Artisans are called from different states and teach here the arts from where they belong. Our group learnt sikki craft and tikuli art here. Not only this ,one can start their own business after learning the art. It's helpful for the poor as well. Students learning here may stay here in hostel and are paid per month for learning and creating products. They come noob and go out as successful artisans.
The ancient art crafts still existing here. You can see how these ancient crafts are making with hands. Great place to visit and great knowledge to gain. I will reccomend this place to visit and experience the historic culture. There you can see museum is also and see very good antiques.
It is a good institute, but we all know the work culture of government institutions. Government should have to must be take care of this institute.
