The maximum depth of the lake is around 200 ft which is also the height of the dam.

It's a nice place but you can only enjoy it if the weather is good. We went in june starting around 10 am it was very hot and sunny. A 5 minute boat ride for 470 Rs was a little much i guess. It is a man made reservoir which in comparison to the natural beauty of other tourist spots in meghalaya is a little faded. It was sunday so the cafeteria was also closed. Boating was still going on.

The view is beautiful. They charge a parking of RS 20/- so if u are coming from Shillong you should wait for the next view point which is just 100 mtrs ahead and is free.
