Large, vast and serene. You can visit en route Shillong or on way back. You can enjoy from the viewpoint or go down to the lake if you have time. Boating available also.

One of the best lakes I have ever seen. The view is just breathtaking. You can go boating here. It has a children's play zone. People can be seen doing picnic here.

Umiam Lake is a beautiful and serene lake located on the outskirts of Shillong. It is an artificial lake surrounded by green hills about 15 km from Shillong and is a popular tourist destination for its scenic beauty and water sports activities. There are several viewpoints around the lake that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lake. One can simply sit for hours and enjoy the surroundings. One can take pictures in ethnic dress. There are also some water sports activities. But they are not properly organized. We had to wait for more than an hour for our turn. Additionally, there are several restaurants and cafes near the lake where visitors can enjoy local food and snacks. Overall, Umiam Lake is a must-visit destination for tourists visiting Shillong, who want to enjoy the beauty of nature and indulge in some fun water activities.

We had a glimpse of this beautiful lake from the viewpoint as we were going by bike so have to manage in this way only Didn't have the time to enjoy this beauty and enjoy the boat ride too Still I loved it The lake is so beautiful

Mesmerizing place ! I went in September.. weather was so beautiful, the lake , park, the foot bridge, everything was 10 on 10.. There's also a service of boat riding service, for 3 person it was maybe 500 and for 10 person it was like 1.2K ... Must visit

This is an artificial lake situated around 15 km from Shillong.This was created as a dam or a reservoir,however the beauty of the place makes it a natural attraction.There are a few view points as well as speed boats and people can enjoy a good time here en route to Shillong

Beautiful man made lake on the road to Shillong from Guwahati. One can go for water sports or simply enjoy the view of the lake. It is in a clean and quite environment. Nice to take a stroll
