Sluice gate for safety of the reservoir and the main dam which is about 2 kilometers towards North on the highway towards Guwahati. Operated only when there is excess accumulation of water, and then vehicular speed is regulated by authorities for safe passage. Not to stop above the sluice gate as the road is narrow. No photography.

Beaware in this part of the lake, i.e. the dam, I by mistake took a few photographs, I had to pay Rs.500 to the army guard to get my phone back, otherwise he threated me of dire consiquences. That day, my respect for army ended. That was November, 2018.

What a beautiful place to visit again , the powerhouse where I worked as Generator engineer along with Russian Experts in 1976-77 along Russian experts forming a BHEL Team . From state electricity board Shri Bhattachaya was SE a very gentle in nature. Executive engineer was Mr. Rai. All Meghalaya staff were most co-operating. Wish to visit again.
