Uddharana Datta Thakur He is Subahu, a dear Cowherd friend in Krishna Lila.(One of the dwadasa Gopal) He is one of the foremost disciple of Nityananda pr. He completely engaged his BMW in service of Nitai.....CC Adi 11.41 Mahaprabhu and Nityananda pr loved his cooking. Srila Prabhupada traces back his ancestors from his line. Sadbhuja Mahaprabhu is his Worshippable Deities. A brahmana was envious of Nityanand pr because he didn't got mercy. He debated with Nityananda pr on the superiority of Jnana over bhakti. Nityanand pr invited him for lunch. When he enquired about the cook and learnt that it was Uddharana datta who was low born. Being enraged, he got up. Nityananda pr tried to pacify him. Nityananda pr Called Uddharana datta and stick which is being used for cooking. Nityanand pr planted that stick in ground and to everyone's surprise it started growing into a large Madhavi tree. This miracle changed the heart of that brahmana.

Uddharana Datta Thakura, a dvadasa gopala, lived in Saptagrama, a cluster of seven villges (Krishnapura, Nityanandapura, Vasudevapura, Sivapura, Bansabediya, Sahanagara, Saptagrama.). Raised in luxury within a family of gold merchants, he later married and worked as a wealthy state minister. The place where he once held office is today called Uddharanapura in his honor. He personally installed and' worshiped Deities of Sad-bhuja Mahaprabhu, Sri Nityananda Prabhu, Gadadhara Pandit. He serves Lord Balarama as Subahu sakha in Vraja lila. Uddharana Datta Thakur is thus one of the Twelve Gopals. In order to assist Nityananda in his incarnation, he took birth in the town of Saptagram in the year 1481 AD. Saptagram is in Hooghly district, near the Trishbigha railway station.
