There are 400 steps in total. After climbing 200 steps, there is a temple. Lord Vinayagar is on the top of the hill. The temple as such is small but the divine feeling can be experienced.
Excellent temple, and amazing view from the hilltop of the entire city of Tiruchirapalli, definitely a must visit. The Trek uphill is totally worth it. Would suggest either early morning or late afternoon to visit as it gets extremely hot during the day and will therefore Sap you off energy while climbing.

You definitely need some water to reach top (suggestion). Great view in evening. My suggestion is to visit there in evening and stay untill dusk. Luckily when I went there, there was drizzled around the place. So that adds my enjoyment. Use OLA to travel around those places. Quite easy way to travel there than public transport. But those Ola services, they get you pay extra 30-50 rupees than the prescribed charge in website. You better ready for that.
