Tungabhadra Bukka Aqueduct Hampi - Archaeological site in Sanapur - Koppal, India

A very old Aqueduct from Vijayanagar Empire. Great place for protography. It's on the way to Virupapurra Gaddi / The ferry point to reach Hampi from Sanapur side

A very beautiful old aqueduct. Good spot to click good pictures at river point.

Great to know that Indians developed this technology of bringing water to their cities so that they can settle away from water bodies as well. Oldest surviving structures are an hour drive from Hampi. The road is very scenic and offers green fields with back drop if hills with interesting stone formations.

The ruins of the old aqueduct still standing tall reminding us of the grandeur of old times. Good stopover and photo shoot point while you are visiting the Hampi waterfall and/or Sanapur lake

Beautiful river. Took bath at the Hampi waterfalls site. We can go boat rides on the banks of river visiting many temples on the sides

Spotted it on my footwalk from Hampi to Monkey Temple. The landscape around Hampi and Hanuman is stunning and the aqueduct stands out of this scenery. must look great when the river carries more water. Didn't impress me that much, forgot to take a pic

A stark reminder of our engineering past...an aquaduct or whatever remains of it...a miracle of its time..and graffati Cornor for our generation...sadly we don't take part in preserving our history but we can definately preserve whatever is left...thank you for standing tall among all the chaos of this world and for the countless thousands in the kingdom that you provided relief with thirst quenching water..thank you:)
