Don't be discouraged by the overall 'below 4; rating. In fact, that's why I am rating it 5 star. I hope the overall rating goes up, not because this safe, amply spaced government property is 5 star worthy, but because it is the best and safest option from other shady looking stays closes to the falls. To me, its certainly worth 4 starts or more. The place is well guarded, has play area and is safe for women and families. It has a 'decent' restaurant in that you cannot expect a diverse menu and the like, but it serves well what it serves. There is satisfactorily good wifi connection as well. The AC bar is decent too. If you want a safe and cozy stay at a location closest (walking distance) to the falls, this is it. Look no further. I've had lodge owners follow me in bike and persuading me to take up their 'affordable' options. I'd suggest you steer away.

Opt only for AC rooms (~2k). Clean rooms, good service and close to the falls. Large parking and good kids park. Few boat men will be available, it is okay to get their service. Rs. 1500 govt ticket for boat and Rs.500 extra for taking to interior falls and stay for longer time.

Room were clean and neat. Only concern on this property is that the food court and parking needs to be shared with the public crowd those who are coming for falls. So generally during the noon time both the food court and parking lots are flowed with crowd and Vehicles especially during the weekends / public holidays. So most of the day time was noisy, crowded and unpleasant.

THE BEST hotel to stay at Hoggenekal. Very spacious rooms and totally renovated Bathrooms.. Looks fresh and clean. Its a huge campus. Closest to the waterfalls... Worth every penny we pay. Their Complimentary breakfast also is of good quality..

This rating is for the restaurant alone. We were here for lunch and the menus was limited to meals and the order items that were available for order were egg omelette, chicken and fish starters. We ordered meals along with chicken and fish and when we started to eat, it was evident that the food lacked seasoning, none of the items except the vattha kulambu were seasoned, and to my surprise the rasam lacked the basics. The chicken was cut into tiny cubes with bones and was deep fried due to which it was bitter. As far as the fish goes, it appears to be a cheap fish (presume it was Roopchand) which had a lot of fat and worth just one slice offered we had to de bone with and were left with scraps of meat. The fish again was not seasoned and was bland. I would not recommend this place for lunch.

We booked through TTDC online website for a 10 people dormitory. The hogenakkal waterfalls is a wonderful visit. However when we enter the rooms it was infected with lots of flies and bugs and lizards around. For the dorms the bedsheets are dirty and seem not to be replaced in a long time. No one is around to attend or listen to any needs and come in the morning for tips despite anything. The dorm A is claustrophobic as hell and it is hot inside, we spend most of our time outside the room except the night because the outside is cooler than the room. The windows do not open adding to the claustrophobic nature of the room.

Rooms are decent. Food available at their restaurant has less variety, but it was good. The location was excellent and peaceful.

Decent hotel in Hogenakkal to stay with family and friends Location - Excellent - very near (walkable) to the waterfalls and other attractions. Most other hotels are basically lodges which charge similar amount's depending upon the demand. Parking - Free parking with stay, plenty of parking available, they charge Rs.50 for outsiders. Facilities - have a restaurant inside (ok food), toilet facilities and kids play area Rooms/Service - Rooms are ok, few need maintenance, service is Good Enjoy your stay at Hoggenakkal and explore all nearby areas as well
