You can't go wrong with the excellent hospitality and ambience of this place. Host Sanat is excellent in hospitality and makes you really comfortable with great conversation. House is located in a very calm and quiet place surrounded by lots of trees and greenery, which makes it ideal for relaxing. There is a balcony area that opens to the front of the house itself which is a really nice place to be. The yellow and white vintage car(Premier Padmini), the Royal Enfield Thunderbird bike, the colours used in and outside the house, wall arts, musical instruments, and a lot of minute details add upto make a superb ambience to the place. The rooms and washrooms are clean and well maintained. It is good for family as well as friends/travellers/backpackers alike. The host Sanat knows some great lesser known places nearby to visit especially during sunset and sunrise time and he maybe able to take you there upon request. In short: don't miss, strongly recommended
Me And my friend stayed for a night at this place. Pros: 1.Excellent and Unique ambience set by the lush greenery around the property along with the paintings , antique furniture, musical instruments, paintings and the vintage car in front is comparable to no other place i have stayed at. 2.Easily accessible location from Calicut town. 3. Very friendly hosts. They make u feel more like at a friends place or even home . 4. Very clean rooms, linen and toilets. 5. The early morning view from the balcony is serene. 6. A family friendly and easily accessible escapade. Cons Probably nitpicks to be frank. Their was no air conditioning. ( i dont think it would get uncomfortably hot though. Thanks to all the tall trees around it. )
Most pathetic experience ever. It wasn't less than a horror house.. property wasn't un use for months altogether...despite that they took the booking and didn't bother to cancel it..there were big spiders moving all around in the toilet..at the middle of the night we were woken by 100s of red ants feasting on us on the bed... The only saving grace was cordial host who tried to help.
Me and my friends had an amazing experience staying in this home. The point is that yeah it feels too homey.we had a wonderful morning experience as it is near to kadalundi backwater. We also had a sitar photoshoot. The antique material collection inside makes this homestay more special and interesting.
nice calm atmosphere. very courteous hosts.. good for those who are looking for nature trips..need improvement in approach road. need to have washbasin in bathroom. hot water facility required (they have provided hot water on request). separate entrance to upper floor would have been better..
So this place looks good on the net but isn't really worth a single penny. 1. The place seems to be located in timba-ktoo (the roads to this place are very narrow and there are no street lights on these very roads) 2.The rooms here have big windows (as can be seen in the pictures posted by me) and the ventilators on the windows are wide open for creatures to creep and fly in. The bathrooms too have such big ventilators that any person from the outside can peep into your bathroom while you mind your business within. 3. The backyard of the homestay is filled with trash. 4. We had booked the homestay for a single night and that very night after we fell asleep, within an hour we were woken up by the ants that crawled all over the bed and bit us (probably we looked to them like large chunks of sugar) 5. The bathrooms had no hygiene maintained, there were hair that I could see in the drain mesh! 6.The big spiders in the bathroom reminded me of Ron's( Harry Potter character) dream where he sees these giant spiders and wakes up out of horror. All in all, the stay was pathetic. Though I appreciate the lady (Dinku) for her hospitality but that stands barely positive next to the infinite negatives of this homestay.
The best place me and my friends stayed till now. The vibe, nature and especially hospitality was memorable and sure this will be the first i will recommend for any of my friends or family if they visit the area.
Went there reading the reviews..quite a let down..it is at some corner of Calicut University campus..amidst unruly city bushes.. the surroundings are unkept with plastics and paper thrown around..we arrived at 10pm .. it was arriving at a bhoot banglow..the rooms with plastic sheet flooring.. the curtain hooks and bathroom hinges fell apart within a hour of our stay.. no wash basin in one room..no wastebins. the verandah at first floor has no railings.. had breakfast included in the charges..got bland cherupayar curry with puttu ..happy to check out of the depressing place

Good staff, good service. They can't be blindly blamed for the service delivery time considering the no of people they are handling at a time, still they are fast comparatively.
