++ Attached bathroom ++ Cleanliness ++ Environment -- No wifi (yet) -- No privacy (mostly 3 seater and 2 seater)

First impression: bad, dirty... Really really dirty. No wardrobes. Got a 5 sharing room. Everyone gets a study table and a chair. For lunch and dinner, we have rice with dal and sabji. For breakfast we have poori and sabji with black tea. Will update my experience with time.

As the Prefect for the Transit Men's Hostel, the ideology is simple, the new administration tries to provide the best hostel facilities to the boarders of the hostel. There are strict rules in place for every student and no ragging of any manner is tolerated within the hostel premises or in the University itself. We try to provide a safe space for all the students coming here from different places of India. As compared to other hostels, we have a more efficient cleaning and management staff which caters to the needs of the students on a day to day basis. It's a home to every boarder and we celebrate each festival with great joy and peace. We have recently alloted our own Common Room for student activity and regular checks are made by the Wardens to ensure there is no substance abuse of any kind. Welcome to Transit Men's Hostel !

This is TMH (1), alloted for first year Btech/MSc, etc. In comparison to all previous reviews, currently all floors are tiled, walls have been painted well and windows and ventilation windows have been modified. Tables are new, and with this you get one bed and 1 chair, that's it. Other hostels like KMH get a cupboard extra and somewhat bigger sized rooms. After completion of 1st year, students are allotted normal 2 seater hostels in other hostels. However, some students may apply for hostel change and only few applications are accepted. Depending on your luck, either you may get 2, 3, 4, 5 or even more seater rooms in TMH. Toilets and washrooms are relatively cleaner. Regarding food, other hostels get much better food, here you may have to adjust since quantity they give is somewhat less, also sometimes you may miss some items in a meal if you come late since they run out of stock. No ragging whatsoever. Adjustment is the key here.

It's my first home in Tezpur university and it's is the best place in many parameters. It has LAN ports which no other university hostels have. It is also very peaceful because of less number of inmates. I love this place and will continue my stay here only through out my masters program
