The park has a variety of diverse eco-systems and abundance of wild animals. Elephants in large numbers are seen mostly between the end of the monsoon season, to the time when water holes begin to dry in March. Predators include the sloth bear and panther, while scavengers include the wolf, jackal and hyena. Other animals include large herds of gaur and chital, large families of langurs, rhesus monkeys, Indian giant squirrels, mouse deer, sambhar deer, four-horned antelopes, nilgai, kakar, small Indian civets, ant eating pangolin, porcupine and mongoose. White tigers that remained in the park were transported to zoos. Birds include the hornbill, peafowl, red jungle fowl, black partridge, white-necked stork, black ibis, swamp grey, quail, pied hornbill, wagtail, harial, dove, drongo, crested serpent-eagle, forest owlet, papeeha, and other birds usually found in dry deciduous forests. The Kamaldah lake attracts several varieties of water birds including the common whistling, cotton teal, knob-billed duck, snipe and geese.

Betla forest is worth less to visit.it is onle forest nothing else. Defficult to go inside with your own vehicle. Because local cars are their to provide the trip inside the forrst area.we have seen few dears & two bayson inside the protected area.this tour is nothing but loss of money.Inthe out side of the forest there is a JHUPRI called Aradhya Resort and restaurants is most bogus place...though it is very close to national park,and looking good from out side but in side is absolutely bogus.uncleaned room,toilet & stffs are not atall trend. Manager is only seeting there to earn money only without providing services.it is just like a concrete JHUPRI.Food is unbelievable costly.l have travel a lot all most allover India.but never found this type of unprofessional manager & Stuf.above few words are not enough to describe the unhappynss during our one day stay.

If you want elephant ride , book it before you reach here. It will be full during season. 400 rs. /Ride /elephant , 4 persons at a time . Jeep ride 750 rs.
