The journey from Kolkata to Sundarban was quite scenic and picturesque, although it did take a considerable amount of time, around 8-9 hours. The transportation involved traveling in a Tempu Traveller followed by a ferry ride. During the journey, meals including breakfast, lunch, and evening tea were provided, which was convenient. However, the overall journey was tiring, and a one-night stay seems to be sufficient. It's important to note that while tigers cannot be easily spotted, rare animals may be seen. Unfortunately, the sound of the ferries during the day can make it challenging to spot wildlife. One area that needs improvement is the quality of the food. Both on the ferry and at the Eco Village, the food was not up to expectations, being overly sweet and strange. On a positive note, the owner, Rajesh, and the ferry guide were entertaining and pleasant individuals. The rooms were spacious and equipped with a mosquito net. The return journey to Kolkata was even longer, taking approximately 10-11 hours due to low waves hindering the ferry's movement. This caused a delay as passengers had to wait for a local boat for about an hour before heading back. The system in place could use some improvements as the staff did not seem attentive or responsive to the passengers' needs, merely asking them to wait without offering much assistance. Also, another notable drawback was the inconvenience of obtaining hot water, as guests were required to wake up early and seek it from their room or the kitchen. Otherwise, bathing with cold water was the only option available. Additionally, during the return journey, no tea or refreshments were served despite the lateness of the hour, which was particularly disappointing and rude, especially when traveling with family and elderly parents.

Le village est joli mais pour y arriver c'est un peu complique! Les bateaux acces difficile et les marches boueuses et glissantes Heureusement que nous avions pense a venir avec un sac a dos plutot que nous valises que nous avons laissees a l'hotel a Calcutta sinon je ne vois pas comment on aurait pu faire!!! Les acces sont tres difficiles pour les personnes agees et les enfants Nous sommes arrives vers 14h30 apres 4h30 de route de Calcutta (2 bateaux et un tuktuk avant d'arriver au village) ils avaient prevu un petit sandwich dans la voiture pour nous La chambre assez oppressante sombre mais propre Avec ventilateur au plafond Pas de connexion wifi pour les touristes Pas de rafraichissement a notre arrivee Ensuite balade en bateau de pecheur pendant environ 1h30 tres agreable ( on adore le bateau) puis retour a la chambre La nuit tombe et la invasion de moustiques L'enfer pour nous! Des piqures partout malgre les repulsifs Le climat tres dur, tres chaud et humide Aucun touriste dans le village, angoisse a la nuit tombee Heureusement qu'il y avait juste un Suisse a cote de nous avec lequel on a pu parler un peu et diner ensemble Repas faits par l'habitant, donc preparez vous a ca! aucun fruit alors que les marches en regorgent a cote ! C'etait a nous de nous mettre au leur niveau et pas a eux! Aucun effort fait dans ce sens On a du payer notre guide pour qu'il nous achete des boissons fraiches dehors et avoir du cafe le matin! Le lendemain grande balade en bateau pendant 10h tres agreable Arif notre guide etait super tout au long du voyage On lui a dit qu'il nous fallait des petits gateaux pour le matin ( petit dej qu'on a pris sur ce bateau) et il a couru nous en chercher Dejeuner sur le bateau nourriture tres basique, tres lourd Heureusement que j'avais amene une bouteille d'eau car leur eau tres tres mauvais gout Retour au village Le soir notre guide a insiste pour faire du bateau en pleine nuit On l'a suivi pour lui faire plaisir mais au bout de 5 mn, on ne s'est pas du tout senti rassure! Environnement hostile, noir complet nuit totale, dans une petite barque de pecheur Toute la journee il nous avait dit que les crocodiles pouvaient attaquer les bateaux de pecheurs donc on avait que ca a l'esprit! En tous cas pour les plus courageux, c'est tres beau sous les etoiles et le silence Toujours seuls toujours tres sombre dans le village on decide de repartir le lendemain au lieu de rester un jour de plus On ne s'est pas du tout senti bien Tres cher pour ce que c'est! Payer 33000 roupies pour 3 jours et 4 nuits ca n'est pas du tout justifie car le 3e jour c'est juste rester pour se balader dans le village autour, aucun interet pour nous! En fait, on te vend le prix d'un sejour pour uniquement une grande balade en bateau Meme pas de petit dej le matin avant notre depart! Les avis ici sont bons pour les indiens, pour les europeens ca n'est pas du tout adaptes Desolee mais Mauvaise experience pour nous

Our trip to Sundarbans was a lot more enjoyable and memorable than we had thought of. We started our journey on 25th November. We were greeted so cordially by Om ji and he made sure throughout our trip that we had no problem during our stay. The trip was very well planned and was full of fun filled activities. The stay at eco Village was a very different experience for us. Great variety and taste of food, made in the local way. Bonfire, Night Safari, mud walk and stargazing were the best part of our trip. If someone wants to experience the wilderness of the Sundarbans in a thrilling way, tour de sunderbans is the best tour operator to give you a lifetime experience.

I actually had high expectations before starting to this journey by reading the google reviews but 5 stars aren't enough to describe my experience it was so great a life time experience for me especially our guide who was more like a brother to us - Arif.. made this journey so wonderful and crazy. In a span of 2days I never even imagined I could enjoy this much .we were only 6 of us in our stint that's why we could enjoy this much .thank you backpackers for making my journey so wonderful and unforgettable , honorable mention the food was very very too good ad delicious let it be in the eco village or in the steam boat I would give a 100 for food thank you for all this.

The best tour experience we had ever. The place was simply magical, the people managing are awesome, and the experience is "once in a lifetime" kind. We took 2 day 1 night package and we had a group of people ranging from 4 years to 55 years, this tour was comfortable and full of fun for all. It's a budget tour, and the visit is to the remotest of the places, so don't have a lot of expectations about facilities. Don't miss the night Safari and mud walk - the highlights of our trip. And finally thanks a lot to our tour operator Sunny, his service, care, explainations couldn't be better.
