TNWRD - Kannankottai - Thervoykandigai dam - Tourist attraction in Thervoy Kandigai, Kannankottai - Thiruvallur, India

This is one of the recent additions to water sources of Chennai City. There are a lot of industries in vicinity on one side and small line of hillocks called Rama giri in the horizon at far side. A remote place where I went by car, the route may not be safe for kids and women as there is a Tasmac on this route and some youth were demanding for money on the pre text of temple pooja etc. I was able to avoid them as I was in a car, but going there by bike may not be safe for outsiders. However, this place was very calm and peaceful, proved to be a stress buster for me at the time of my visit. Not sure how crowded it gets or if it's already open for public views.

This New Reservoir is constructed and maintained by Public Works Department. This place is a Developing tourist attraction. Parks and other recreational things have to be constructed. Right now, considering the safety of the public the Reservoir is closed for Public access since water is very deep here. Please avoid getting into water and stay safe

The dam is an excellent place to go for a morning /evening walk. Nothing much is present due to covid but some kids were jumping into the water and having fun. The maximum depth is somewhere around 40ft so it's pretty safe to play in water.

Really such a awesome place... Underrated tourist spot. Awesome of boys outing. Swimming spot

Wonderfull place and very good Ambience. Please don't spoil this place by throwing plastics and also dont let others

Since the construction of this dam me and my friend visiting here. It's a place were you can get peace and fresh air for a while. But what bothers me now is cleanliness, it should be watched out
