Tipu Sultan's Armoury - Historical place in Bengaluru - Bengaluru Urban, India

Tipu Sultan's Armoury. It's in a narrow lane now. This is where Tipu stored his weapons to fight the British. It's been restored and the old look has gone. It looks like a new concrete structure. It certainly doesn't look like something from the 1700's. The Armoury was closed. There is a shack where the caretaker, Murugan stays. He opened it for me.

Tipu sultans armoury is currently being renovated. However there is nothing much here than the empty structure. Won't recommend going in a four wheeler, roads are narrow, parking is difficult. Currently entry is blocked (may be because of the renovation). Only thing that I found interesting are the 2 goats that are roaming around the area

It is being renovated now. Doesn't look historic anymore. More like a godown. You need to ask permission from the house in front. Not easy to locate. No information regarding the place or it's history. You need to learn everything online.

Tipu had built four armouries during his regime in Karnataka in late 18th century. These were lifelines during the long wars he fought against the British. The armoury is below the ground level, a staircase leads us down. The entrance to the armoury has no door, the interiors is just a hollow space with dimensions 12ft by 30ft approx. and just one small window for ventilation and light. No tickets required to enter it. You have to make an entry in the visitors' book.

The condition if this place is not much good. It is now surrounded by buildings and is 3 meters below the ground level. It was an important place during the wars that Tipu Sultan fought. It was the innovation to store the weapons securely and maintain regular supply of ammunition to war area.

No maintainece on this historical place there was a lot of tree grass and lot of garbage haveput

we can see the tippu sultan's style in every construction here..!! it takes around 20-30 min. to cover all the things in this compound.. it is just an fort..lots of transition is happened here... from kempu to tippu..!! it is very near to tippu sultans summer palace..!! beside medical college..!!
