Tinchuley Rai Cottage & Resort - Resort hotel in Chhota Mungwa - Darjeeling, India

A wonderfull place to stay in Tinchuley. Very nicely decorated and maintained by the staff. Rooms are well equipped with basic facilities. The main USP of this place is their own 360deg view point from where you can witness the scenic beauty of Mt. Kanchenjungha. Foods are good specially their chilli brinjal. And the cutest thing in this resort is their pet Messi. Anyone can fall in love with this cute angel. But one drawback is there. One of their male staff was rude. The day of our check out he was behaving badly, he even demand to pay extra service charges which is already included in bill. Otherwise it was a very good experience

Wonderful place to stay at a wonderful location. They have their own viewpoint with a wide mountain view. Rooms are spacious and has open mountain views. Rai ji is very welcoming. Food can be better.

The main resort is outstanding superficially. But don't take any cottages, it was very damppy. Only one light in every room. That was very dimmy. If you not take their food (650/- per head) , then they behave very rudely.

No doubt Tinchuley Rai resort is a nice place to stay but... behaviour of their staff ....miss management...totally..we 7adults and one child ...went there in August...there was only one staff who was serving entire resort ...very poor room service they didnot clean rooms on daily basis ...they arranged our rooms...far away from one another .though we booked almost 4 months earlier...totally disappointed ...

Amazing food and night time..Their personal view point is great..food is average.. And plz carry drinking water if possible.. They Don't have filter.and charge a little extra for sealed water bottle

Beautiful cottage with a beautiful view atop complete with a swing. They have a bhutia dog called Messi who's old now but is still protective of his guests. He sees them off till the end of his premises.

Very unsafe location. no one cares about the guests, even there were no security, or any staff stays after evening except two kitchen staffs who also went off after serving dinner by 8pm. Strictly not recommendable for a single family since many hooligans come and stays there overnight, partying till late night with loud music and liquor and spoils the ambience. But Mr Rai supports these hooligans stay. Probably he may get more perks from them than a family and allows them to do anything which disturbs other boarders rather a family will feel very unsafe in such situation as we felt. Food is horrible. Below average maintainence. I stays there for 2N2D but no one came and clean the room even once. Rain water leaks inside the rooms through door and windows. Though there is gyeser in bathroom but you'll never get hot water for frequent power cutoff. Staffs like Sunil & Nirmala are good. Dog Messi is so friendly. The only plus point is the Location. Location and View is just AWSOME.

The experience of a brilliant view and wonderful nature gets spoiled because of the condition of certain rooms. Food is below average, WiFi although advertised and provided basically didn't work. Rooms beside the view point staircase are priced very high when you compare them with the new rooms on the same property. Newer rooms are recommended for staying. The best thing is Messi, the guide dog who walks with guests wherever they go and is a great company to have.
