Thottapura View Point - Tourist attraction in Pariyaram - Thrissur, India

This is a good road side view point of the lower sholayar reservoir on Athirapally - Malakkapara road. It is refreshing to see this water body after a long drive through the forest. Tourists can't go close to the reservoir. This is the only spot where you can park your vehicle and see the reservoir from the roadside. You may be surprised to know that the forest on the other side of the hills you see from here is part of Parambikulam tiger reserve.

Background was completely covered by mist ... this picture was taken during pre monsoon while we are on the way from athirapally to Valparai.

Very beautiful place. Since it was monsoon, there was misty. View is best for photos. Not so crowded. But it's near a big forest.

It's a great spot to click pictures both for yourself and the natural beauty as well. Parking for around 5-10 vehicles is simultaneously possible. Great spot to stop and refresh during rides while also taking in the beautiful view.

Best view point inside the forest and safe place to take a little break after a long ride through the forest if you are coming from Vazhachal side. You can spot animals if lucky. Very less crowd. Don't be afraid of little sounds between the shrubs though. Access road is very narrow so park your car safely. The roads were not so good the time I visited.
