Thoppayil Beach Calicut - Public beach in Kozhikode - Kozhikode, India

Nice Clean beach ..serene atmosphere. But no shops around which makes it less crowded and calm for people looking for peace.

Go around sunset time. It's very calm. It's about 2kms from the main beach. If you a solo woman traveler, please be aware of rogue crowd of guys who might give you an unpleasant experience. But the beach is beautiful and the sunset is worth it.

There is no crowd, calm place. Only localites, and fishermens are over there. Beech is not clean, full of waste and all. But if you need a calm time away from the crowded calicut beech, you can choose here.

Since Kozhikode (main) beach is at rush hours people head towards north side. Thoppayil beach. The beach was not at all crowded, with greenery here and there but I was highly disappointed by the plastic wastes dumbed by the visitors. Though Thoppayil beach is not a spot for public to visit since other beaches are over crowded especially during weekends some of them head towards here. But polluting such a beautiful place is not a right thing to do. I have seen people coming here for sports and games, jogging etc. Besides that a police man is Deputed here for controlling the traffic. A calm beach to sit and enjoy the sunset is what I felt.

The reason why I don't go to Calicut beach is because it's really crowded. Here the crowd is very minimal and it's quiet. A good place to relax with your family and friends. Cars and Bikes can only be parked near to the curb on the road and there are no restroom facilities. Those who enjoy peace and quiet places be sure to visit this beach.
