Thoovanam Waterfalls - Tourist attraction in Marayoor, Keezhanthoor - Idukki, India

One of the good waterfalls that we need to trek around 3 to 4 kms. Worth watching it and to spend some time for picnic. Due to safety reasons, they are not allowing us to take bath. The day would be fulfilled if they allow us to bath. They charge 300 per person is also overcost. Only a small part of money is going for tribes who will come with us as guide.

One cant take bath in falls due to safety reasons. But the trek was awesome with stunning views. The guides who come are fantastic people.

A beautiful waterfalls deep within the forests. You need to trek a total of 6kms.. 3 up and 3 down.. and can spend one hour at the falls. It's takes a total of 3 hours... The trek is mildly tough only. And the beauty of the falls is worth it .... Only sound of birds and the waters...sorrounded by thick forests.... It was an amazing experience..

Best place!! Trekking for 3km deep down into the forest with the guidance from forest guards. Flow of water if super good and we have enjoyed a lot!! Perfect waterfalls!!

A perfect outing for half a day. Not for the very faint hearted, the journey to Thoovanam falls is through a 3km one way trek through the forest. The trek is totally for 3 hours, 1 hour for the onward trek, 1 hour at the falls, and 1 hour for the return trek. Guides accompany every group that opts for this trek. They vary their pace as per the group's requirements. The journey was totally mesmerizing. The destination, Thoovanam Falls, was splendid. It was a very refreshing experience. Although bathing in the falls is not allowed, one can always enjoy the small pools around the falls. To all those looking to explore new places, Thoovanam falls is a place that should not be missed. Carry good amounts of water and enjoy the nature. :)

The waterfall is beautiful but the trekking path is slightly tough. It's 3km trekking on one side. In between you have to pass through some small streams. Going without guide is not at all advisable. I was not very fortunate to see elephants and other wild animals. But this jungle is their frequent visiting place so be aware. Remember to carry atleast 1 lt water per person and not throw the bottle or plastic in between your trekking. Early morning visit is recommended as it gets quite hot in afternoon.

It can reached only though an hour's moderate trek inside the deep jungle. First kilometre of the trekking can be avoided if there is facility for dropping in the midway. Trekking guide will let you know the point where you can start the trek. Hence, pretty much secluded, just four of us and whole waterfall and good fall of water throughout the year.

It's a 3km trek inside the forest one way (both ways 6km) and the forest guards will take you to the location and they charge Rs.300/- per person to take you to the location and the total time taken is 3hours and this totally worth it
