One of the holiest Siva temples in India. Siva is worshipped here as Arunachaleshwara in the form of Agni lingam, representing spiritual fire. Legend says that Siva has come down to earth and has taken the form of a mountain here. Pilgrims walk around the mountain covering around 14 km as a sign of their devotion. The temple still holds a mystical lustre to it and blends old traditions with new.

Great temple to visit with a lot of history and ancient culture. The temple was extremely good and the vibrancy was great and the temple staff and maintenance of people would have been better since we haven't seen people happy with the maintenance of the temple. But the temple was really great and a great place to visit with friends and family. It gives a totally different vibe when you visit. Ramana maharishi ashram is also nearby and a must visit since it gives a lot of peace

It's a lovely temple with a long history. It feels great to be inside. In terms of operations management, it's unclear why and how some people jump through the queue all the way to have darshan while others wait in queue.

It's a very great opportunity to every hindhu to attend this temple with out lord shive permission we can't enter into this temple. Even giri pradhakshina also. A place you feel like a heaven Darshan taken nearly 2 hours During the festival or pournami time it takes nearly 5 hours . Here giripradhakshina is very famous Total -14KM Auto fare 700-800 for four people Better to provide some prasadam after the darshan at free of cost . They charge 10/-

I visited Tiruvannamalai on Monday in the month of November, went for Giri Pradaskshcinam which around 14-15 kms distance we walked on bare foot, it took 4 hrs for us to complete one time full rotation surrounding the Giri, all the we can find Eight Lingams, followed by Indra, Agni, Yama, Niruthi, Varuna, Vaayu, Kubera and Esanya lingam, and went for Lord shiva dharsan, it took 1 hr to come out, feeled very peacefulness and pleasure after seeing Shiva Lingam inside the temple must ans should we need to visit this place once in lifetime. Here we also can find other places like Ramana Mahashri Aashram and Aadi Annamalai temple places must and should visit places in Tiruvannamalai.
