Thiruparankundram Hill - Featured Reviews (166)
Historically madurai is surrounded by small hills (Kundru in Tamil) . There are lot of hills like Yanaimalai ( Named after Elephants) and Azhagar Malai both are located on Western part of Madurai Similarly Pasumalai (Named after Cows) ,Nagamalai ( Named after Snakes) and Thirupaarankundram all are located more or less on the southern area. The southern side of Tiruparankundram is called by thenparankundram and also a hill side. This is one of the best hill place to enjoy the beauty of nature and city view especially during sun set. There are 650 steps from bottom to top. It would hardly 30 mins or less than that and for elders it may vary .Also steps are well structured and no obstacles or hiccups in between. On top of the hill, there is a Macha Muni Siddhar temple located along with karuppaswamy temple. There are lot Monkey's on the way so be aware of. In bottom of this Eco Park is located . You can park your vehicles there and walk from there. There is no water facility and lights also may not work at evening time. So if you want to buy things like Curd ( Given to fishes as a tripute Macha Muni Siddhar) and Pori it is advisable to buy those items before start climbing. Good time to start climbing is evening 4 PM onwards and Morning 6 to 7 AM those are the times you may not feel tierd also you wont feel heat while going in barefoot . Views from the top of the mountain are beautiful and mesmerizing. Check out our Clicks below , Click Credits to , Akshath & Siva, Thanks, Surendar
Wonderful place
Best place to spend with family and kids. Try the North side way to reach the top. It'll be completely rocky way with good forest ambience
Beautiful location... You will be seen whole madurai city on hilltop..
Nice. Calm and pleasant place to spend time
Very Nice Place For Tracking, Amazing Beutiful Place _
Must visit worship place with 2000 years history with it. The view from the hill is unforgettable
First and foremost, the temple's architecture is awe-inspiring. As you approach the entrance, you are greeted by the majestic Gopuram (tower), adorned with intricate sculptures and vibrant colors. The temple complex itself is sprawling and beautifull
It is a decent climb up and better to go early morning or evening to avoid the heat. Make sure you climb during the time where people are frequent if not don't take the risk, apart from this the view is to die for, it's silent, calm and not too noisy
This is the best tiffin centre in this place ! being a TSM guy we reguraly hang out to this mess ! all dosa and idli items are the best here ! it is in a walkable distance from the temple ! so who ever is new to this place , do pay a visit to this ti
