Thenmala Reservoir Boating Point - Tourist attraction in Thenmala - Kollam, India

The boat ride in Thenmala reservoir is fantastic. Rs275 per person. Coracle (kutta vanchi) ride is also available at around Rs400; one coracle can accommodate 4 people. Avg water level: ~150 feet. Max water level: ~380 feet.

Need to walk alot, awesome viewpoint, you can see the beauty of western ghats. Either you can spend time in the dam or one can go to adventure park nearby this dam.

You can go on a mini safari behind the dam by taking the safari jeep from the main entrance. It will cost 500 for groups no matter how big or small. The jeep will take you to a protected area right behind the dam where you can go for a walk and enjoy the view. If you are lucky you will be able to spot wild elephants, eagles and other birds! Don't forget to carry binoculars to see the animals as they will be on the other side of the lake. I recommend going early in the morning by around 9am as this area is quite open and can get very hot.

A nice place to relax before the boat's arrival. Aesthetic sense of everyone will flourish experiencing the wonderful natural scenic beauty.. Really a beautiful place. A wonderful experience of boating guaranteed. The only bitter thing is there are no benches to relax . Boats are arriving on time. They wait a bit for latecomers.
