The Yakha Retreat & Spa - Hotel in Kalimpong, Dalapachan Khasmahal - Kalimpong, India

We paid a premium for the room - the room & the property looked beautiful but the rooms were untidy, filled with insects, things were broken, no amenities other than a bar of soap. Food was good but breakfast options were very less. The service was extremely poor. We paid a lot more than we got. Wasn't satisfied at all.

Not a great place if somebody is looking for good service. We were welcomed by a power cut and the hotel could not start the generator even after multiple power cuts during the stay. It was a cold December night and this is the only hotel ( we stayed in 3 other hotels on this trip ) which charged extra to provide a room heater. The bathroom was very very small. Food options were limited like if you want to have an omelette for breakfast then other members also have to take the omelette and not the boiled egg. Bed was king size but there were 2 mattresses causing great discomfort while sleeping. These things are acceptable at a home stay but not at a hotel which claims to be a luxury or premium property. Only good part was the tasteful decoration of the rooms and hotel.

I had booked a premier room. I found the price of the room to be fair. The room was spacious, well decorated and clean. The owner was so friendly. My family and he had good conversations. The food served by the restaurant was fresh and extremely delicious. I craved for more and hence ended up ordering more food items. Additionally there was a Labrador named Buddy. He was so friendly. I spent most of my time playing with him. Overall I had an excellent time. I would surely come back and stay over here again.

Rooms are impeccable. A few service glitches here and there but overall it's great.

Food was excessively priced. Location is very far from the city. No place to dry out your clothes. Amenities like iron & hair dryer not available.

The property is beautiful but rooms filled with insects and service is v v bad. Food late. Requested for khichdi for my 2.5yr old baby but it took so many hours to make. Had to constantly ask for bottle water.

Let me start by saying the location and the hotel is great but there is a noise of insects which rumbles your ears day and night another and most important thing it's such well designed hotel and has such beautiful rooms with no one to take care of, i have stayed in hotels like barsana kalimpong with such a high service with decent rooms but the service was world class.. unfortunately with this one management is not upto the mark, food taste was not good the plain basmati that i ordered was not even a good quality basmati rice very very ordinary with a very high price on menu which is not even clear the bill that was provided was not even printed bill it was hand written bill i was shocked to know that the hotel such as this was not having POS machine. Many things which could have been better i called for tea around 7:10 am and the reception told it was not available!! Loved the location and hotel but no cherry on the top because of the service!!

Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms and incredibly helpful staff makes it one of the best place to stay in. The view of the snow capped mountain is just perfect if you are looking out for a blissful holiday. A very warm, friendly and welcoming environment overall. I would certainly like to visit this place again.
