You can find fossilized trees belonging to the period of Dinosaurs here. Mannequins of Dinosaurs dot the landscape in this forested area. This is a quiet place where one can reminisce events of prehistoric times.
Great initiative for the preservation of fossils. Park consists of six tree fossils dating to Jurassic era (15crore years ago) and dinosaur sculptures. Must visit place for Archaeology and fossil researchers. Note: Food and water are not available on the site
Nothing there. Just named dinosaur fossil park.. nothing worth while inside, except for few tree fossil. Ill maintained. The dinosaur statues are funny looking, with most of the paint peeling off. Though entry free,it could be made chargeable n maintained well.
Peaceful and Beautiful Place - Natural Dinosaur Park (Museum) (Wadadham Fassil Park, Sironcha, Gadchiroli, Maha) The Wadadam Fossil Park is situated nearby a village Wadadam in Sironcha taluka in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra State. It is located 189 k.m. towards South from District head quarters Gadchiroli and 19 k.m. from Sironcha. A group of amateur archaeologists have unearthed fossils in the Maoist-hit Sironcha in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra's Vidarbha, which they claim date back millions of years and are believed to be of dinosaurs. Sironcha is among the five places in the country where dinosaur fossils have been found in large numbers. A full-fledged skeleton of a dinosaur was found in 1959 near the Godavari basin in Kothapalli-Pochampally village that borders Telangana. The fossil has since then been kept in a Kolkata museum... Thank You ...
Waddham, a reserve forest, is a well-known fossils site where a full-fledged skeleton of a dinosaur was found near the Godavari basin in Maharashtra, bordering Telangana in 1959. The well preserved Barapasaurus skeleton is at present kept in the museum of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Kolkata. Named the Waddham Fossil Park, this Jurassic period site houses the fossils of flora that existed when sauropods, the giant 'vegetarian' dinosaurs, walked this stretch of the Indian subcontinent. This has given the park the unique distinction of being the only dinosaur site in the Indian subcontinent to have fossils of both flora and fauna from that time.
