Amidst the outskirts of Kolkata there are innumerable venues where a majority looks upto having a wonderful lunch/dinner with family or friends and such classy eateries doesn't lose the " oppertunity " to serve them with mouthwatering delicacies ; even though they don't adjust like the BRANDS in proper city areas. This time our search came to a halt with THE TASTE FAMILY RESTAURANT Located at 181/S/17 School Road, Panihati Municipality, Sodepur Station Road, Kolkata - 700 110 [ precisely 6-8 mins walking distance from Sodepur Station , adjacent exit to platform no.4 towards Pansila Autostand ] this Venue is quite spacious with around 50 guests' accomodation with two separate sections , one for " Family Space " and another for " Private Dining ". A basic decor with beautiful dim illumination for a perfect family time over palatable delicacies. They serve INDIAN, CHINESE AND TANDOOR from their Menu. Must say .. I didn't expect their BIRYANI to be so good !! Extremely light ( as per my palate ) and not too oily, great balance of all the ingredients and the quality of the Chicken, Rice and Aloo was absolutely top-notch || MENU we tried || VEG MANCHURIAN DRUMS OF HEAVEN ( dry ) MIXED FRIED RICE TANDOORI CHICKEN FRIED RICE SPECIAL MUTTON/CHICKEN BIRYANI CHICKEN TANGRI KEBAB Surprisingly the quality and quantity of food didn't disappoint me at all Taste was simply wow with the portions alongside price range. An hour drive from Kolkata to savour our tastebuds with such amazing items was totally worth The appetizers were my personal favourite and undeniably .. BIRYANI Quantity & Quality of food is really good Prompt service Staff with amiable approach

I found a beautiful and pocket friendly restaurant 'The taste' . It is located at Sodepur kolkata few minutes walking distance from Sodepur railway station . The ambience of the restaurant was well decorated especially the bar section was truly appreciated. They can accommodate around 15 - 20 people . Service was quick and staffs were very much helpful and friendly. Food items i had tried - 1. Veg Munchurian Rs160 2. Golden fry prawns(dry) Rs300 3.mixed fried rice Rs160 4. Tandoori chicken fried rice Rs170 5. Special Mutton Biriyani Rs400 6. Chicken tangri kabab(full) Rs300 Quality and quantity wise every food items were great well cooked and delicious Chicken tangri kabab and Special Mutton Biriyani was my favourite among them even Golden fry prawns was superb as well .. Price of those food items were very reasonable according to the quality and quantity. Overall good experience wanna visit again

The Taste is a family resturant located at Sodepur, School road, block - B. The ambiance is cosy amd straight-forward. . Now coming to food section, they have quite elaborate menu. Some of the dishes i tried are: # Veg Manchurian ( Rs160) #Golden fry prawns(dry) (Rs300) # Mixed fried rice (Rs160) #Tandoori chicken fried rice (Rs170) # Special Mutton Biriyani (Rs400) #. Chicken tangri kabab(full) (Rs300) . All the menu was delicious. The food quality and quanity was also nice. Special mutton biryani had 2 big pieces of mutton, and a doft potato. The thing that i loved is, it was neither too dry or oily, amd had a perfect balnce of flavours. Chicken tangri kabab has 4 pieces of kebab and was nicely tandoored. . The veg manchurian was tasty among veg main course and went well along with fried rice. The veg kofta was soft and had a thin gravy ( coz arrowroot powder was not used) . The staffs are friendly and the prices of the cuisines are reaaonable.

In-depth Review: I was in absolute frustration with the below quality foods, I was having whenever I seek for a restaurant. Either the price of the restaurant is toooo high and food quality is good or low price and food quality below average... And fortunately or unfortunately due to rain me with my friends have to stop in front of this restaurant and as far I remember we grabbed Chicken Resmi Kabab. While writing this review my facial expression is like. Perfectly tendered chicken. Fast Forward to the Durga puja of 2021: I was planning the have pizza but my friends are not interested so b/w this conflict we decided to go for "THE TASTE" as last time the experience with this restaurant was very good that's why. We grabbed * Chicken tandoor * Chicken Resmi kabab * Karhai Chicken * Paneer Gravy * Nan * Water Bottles (You have to pay for water bottles.) Our total bill was Rs1010. About the experience: The tandoor was a little overcooked though that was not a big issue. But the kadhai chicken was so much buttery, ohhh man!! The gravy was very delicious while the rest of the things are ummmm..... excellent according to my taste. Another thing I forgot to mention my sister told me that tandoori roti was too stiff, she has to chew a lot. The embarrassing thing is they have a wall tv but don't have a subscription on their set-up box, few people were asked to tune the channel for IPL but they can't. Instead, they started playing "Student of the Year 2". Conclusion: Overall definitely recommended for everyone, especially for families and seekers of good quality food at a reasonable price.

Went here with my family. This is a family restaurant in Sodepur area. Situated on the roadside near to 'Keya Mistanna Bhandar'.Nearest railway station is Sodepur. If walking is preferred it will roughly take around 5 mins from station. The first thing you will notice here is the TV installed outside. The external kitchen is just beside the road. So I am unsure about the hygiene. I had their Chicken do Peyaza and butter naan. Overall the food was good in pocket friendly price. But the chicken pieces were not so good. The speed of service could be better. We waited nearly 30 mins. The overall ambience and decoration is nice.

It is a nice place to spent time with your family. The quality of food is also good. The price is pocket friendly.

This is my first visit to this place and I am pretty impressed with this place. This place has pretty good ambience and well maintained place with extremely courteous staff. I recommend to try their specialty pasta items.Great spot to try out great pizza at a good price, especially loved their base tomato sauce which seemed to be made in-house. Service charge is also a bit steep. But overall a nice place to hangout and have good food. If you are a vegetarian there is no need to be disappointed as they have vegan based foods as well. The cocktail section is also good and has lots of varieties. If you are going out with friends and planning for a quick bite, you must visit this place.

This is a small and cute outlet for momo lovers. Their momo platter is really nice which is a combination of various momos so 2-3 people can easily try this out. We also ordered Chicken afgani malai momo, which had a sweetness. This one was good and all of us liked it.. They also have an offer going on which says if you post a photo of yours along with the food on your social handle tagging them, you will get 10% reduction on your dining bill. This was really cool. Give this place a try..you will like it.
