The Tamarind - South Indian restaurant in Bolpur - Birbhum, India

Recently had masala dosa from here after may be 6/8 months and it was utter disappointment from every angle. The dosa was half cooked, masala inside had some unusual stinking (it was not fresh I believe), sambar tastes below average, coconut chutney had gallons of water in it. Lastly, they are charging Rs.100 for a masala dosa of this taste whereas an authentic dosa in most parts of Karnataka / Tamil Nadu costs around Rs.65 in average and carry a much better taste than this. It was probably my last visit to this restaurant and I would never recommend anyone to try here.

It's the old "Mitu ice cream.",named The Tamarind. It's very good shop and serves quality foods. Branded foods and beverages available here.Mostly Haldirams',Gangurams,Amul ice cream,Dairy milks various items you can find here.. It's a fine ice cream parlour according to me.Now a days they sells fast foods,south indian foods.Their food quality also can satisfy you but pizza which I had eaten was not so good.It is with average quality. I love to be there.

Good South indian taste... try Masala Dosa

It's a perfect place for south indian food. You can also get biriyani here.

Among south indian dishes one must try this dish as it is a masala dhosa..missed curry patta flavour in stuffed masala.They also have reduced the quantity of stuffing.But it's a filling dish costs 90/-

The food was ordered via IRCTC e catering. It was supposed to be delighted at Bolpur - Howrah Shantiniketan express, but the food never got delivered and when I tried to call the vendor, the calls were getting cancelled automatically. Horrible experience.

I only ate dosa here. Not too bad to eat. The place is small but nice.

Recently the quality of south indian foods have gone down. The sambhar and chutney is not up to the mark. Uttapams, my favourite dishes, are either too soir, or a bit bitter. The food quality was far better than this. The owners should look ibto the matter
