The Sitting Elephant - A Rooftop Restaurant Overlooking River Ganga - Indian restaurant in Rishikesh - Dehradun, India

The restaurant is situated on the fifth floor of the building giving a mesmerizing view of mother ganga which is a delight to your eye. . The supervisor is probably the most delightful lady you would meet in Rishikesh and she has a very beautiful smile . The food was not worth the prices it has, I mean "I MEAN I HAVE HAD BETTER FOOD AT ROADSIDE CARTS", the fried noodle with manchow soup was stale, you could feel the soup was not fresh, the spring roll was probably deep freezed and the biriyani tasted like yesterday's...i was strongly dissatisfied with the food that they provided.

Food is decent. We liked most of the items served. Kafuli saag was very average, We had very high hope from it considering it's specialty of uttarakhand food. Maandave ki roti was delicious and tasty. Dal tadka was delicious too. Garlic bread and pastas were very tasty too. Food item such as sizzler was not avbl even after taking order for unknown reason. Onion as a salad was not available due to No Stock. It took some time to serve first order but all subsequent order were served promptly. Location is really good and Ganga view from restaurant is pretty good. Triveni ghaat is visible from restaurant. Special mention to restaurant staff Mr. Prakash who was very helpful in explaining various detail and staying with us all throughout.

I and my husband along with my 10 months old stayed here for 2 days and it was quiet pleasant. We got complimentary upgrade and view from the room was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We had one dinner and two breakfasts here. Food and service both were good. They also have baby chairs which most restaurants don't have. Overall our stay and food experience was pleasant.

Situated on the rooftop, it's a pretty nice Indian restaurant. The outdoor seating area is quite breezy with a view of the Ganges. The food was really tasty, especially dal makhani, paneer moksha and malai kofta but the portion size was quite disappointing especially for the price charged. Boondi raita also tasted a little weird. The service by Mr. Rawat was on point. One thing that I'd have expected from such a restaurant was a dedicated hand wash area. There's just a single washroom that needs to be used for washing hands but since it's mostly occupied, people usually have to wait for a while.

The restaurant has a spacious rooftop terrace with plenty of seating. There are also a few tables indoors, but the best seats are definitely on the terrace. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. The menu at The Sitting Elephant features a wide variety of North Indian dishes, including tandoori chicken, butter chicken, dal makhani, and naan. There are also a few Chinese and Continental dishes available. I ordered the tandoori chicken and butter chicken, and both dishes were excellent. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauces were flavorful and creamy. The naan was also fresh and hot. The service at The Sitting Elephant was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. He made sure that we had everything we needed and that our food was cooked to our liking. Overall, I had a great experience at The Sitting Elephant. The food was delicious, the views were stunning, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rishikesh. It's a perfect for vegetarian to have food here and the service was very pleasant and kind ... The view from the top is also pleasentful
