The Secret Garden Goa SALIGAO, NORTH GOA - Home Stay in Saligao - North Goa, India

My family and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Secret Garden. We absolutely LOVED the beautiful house (we had booked all 3 rooms), and had a fabulous time thanks to Helene and her family. They made us feel very welcome and gave us great recommendations for places to go, things to see, eat and drink :) We also thoroughly enjoyed the home-cooked breakfast (with great vegan options), and the plethora of books in the house. The rooms were lovely, the beds super comfortable - and the garden and pool are absolutely beautiful. Our only regret was that our stay was a short one. We all definitely want to go back and stay for a longer period... ASAP!

The secret garden is like a hidden retreat, tastefully curated by Helene. From cute wind-chimes at the doors, antique furniture, colourful garden decor, a well-lit pool to an AMAZING BREAKFAST that she cooks for her guests, using the vegetables and fruits that she grew herself in her garden!!! You'd see a 'chikoo' tree right by the pool side, and all the other vegetables growing around. The place is luxurious and yet authentic, in contrast with the nature around it. It can inspire anyone to create, learn and just to live fully in the moment, for a while! They try to provide their guests with utmost convenience, from booking a scooter for their stay to arranging a pick-up and drop, from the airport. And the best part is, you won't even realise when the house- keeping will just quickly fix your room, while you'll be having your breakfast or taking a dip in the pool. As soon as you come back to your room, you'll see your bed, all made, water bottle refilled with cold water, cleaned bathroom and used towels replaced with the fresh ones. Our stay lasted for 3 days and honestly, the beautiful memories from this place have hijacked everything else that we did in Goa.

Fantastic home and hosts. We stayed in their largest room: Beautiful, clean and utterly charming. You won't want to leave! Have to mention the lovely dogs, comfortable bed, and the most delicious omelette we've ever eaten. Thank you so much for having us in your home.

Secret Garden. - The description of the name pretty puch sums it up. A beautiful curated home stay with each room tastefully decorated. The rooms and the living/ dining room open into the Secret Garden. With its tropical green plants, surrounding the perfect pool. This was our second stay here, and the best thing.. Nothing changed from the first time. The hosts Helene and Derrik are fabulous. Helene's breakfast is legendary, with home made bread, fruit preserves, cereals to choose from, eggs, omletts, fresh fruits,coffee, tea, juices .. And not to mention our daughters favourite the pancakes with chocolate sauce. She also offered us other options of traditional Indian breakfast.. The secret garden is located perfectly in North Goa, tucked away from the tourist madness that does take over the beautiful state. But convinent to all the restaurants, bars , the museum of Goa, the beaches.. All which come with great recommendations from the Hosts.Helene helped us get rental bikes and cab pick up and drop from the airport. We were a group of 3 families, and had the house and pool to ourselves as soon as the kids woke up to midnight dips in the pool. It was as private as one could have. We were looking for a relaxing holiday, and the secret garden was just perfect combination of a beautiful comfortable stay with lovely conversations, and all that Goa promises.

A very well hidden secret indeed! It is a really memorable stay in Goa - one that you won't forget! This place is more of a homestay than a BnB or hotel - loved the hospitality. The host is more than willing to help with your queries - they even arranged a Vespa on very short notice. Btw if windsurfing is your thing then you can get in touch with Derrick, who is a national champion and has been involved with water sports for decades. And yes, whatever you do don't miss the breakfast, it is a treat!! Would surely love to visit again:)

Hello, just to let you know that I have been to this place since I was a child. Also, I have been here when part of the house was converted to Secret Garden. I'm from Pequeno Morod itself. Well, it was constantly asking me to give a review and I did give one but I guess you didn't like my review so I will delete it!

Having spent four nights at a top five star property in South Goa it was the need of the hour to find a pristine place preferably in a village and away from the madding crowd. Destiny had heaven on earth in mind - The secret Garden. The attention to detail coupled with the amenities would put the top hotels to shame. The guardian angels in the form of Helene and Derek will ensure you are loved and pampered all the way. The breakfast spread at the five star was a pale shadow of the gastronomical delight whipped up by Helene - manna from heaven I say. Just over a day into our stay and we're already overwhelmed by everything we feel about this place. The wits of these joyous times have metastasized a way to epiphany, which the dull caution of our labyrinths durst never attempt; they cut the knots laced by sudden irradiations of mirth, underlying the very ethos of impassioned and unbridled sonorous rapture.
