I liked the place. Really serene, quiet. You can hear birds chirping. You can see lots of parrots in the tree top. Well maintained toilets. Great for photography. Not much to see in the museum but good. Very less crowded. You can get an idea of old soldier colonies or camps. No tuck shops or canteen etc inside. Time taken to visit min 1 hr - 3 hr.
Remnants of the British Cantonment area . A wonderful window into how the settlement was created in the heart of Lucknow . Historical significance around the Sepoy mutiny of 1857. It makes for a good walk - but if you can make it early - while there are trees , the paths do not have too much shade , so it is tough when hot . Fortunately paths are flat so folks on wheelchair can also visit , with assistance .
A historical monument where each wall carries some stories of Sepoy Mutiny. There are also history related to the Audh Nawabs. The building complex is quite large and you will need 1.5 - 2 hrs to cover it properly. The official opening time is 9 am but we reached early and requested the guard to let us enter. He was very kind and allowed us after we got our online tickets. It was zero crowded at that time and we enjoyed our visit in peace. Bonus was many birds and squirrels who kept playing in the morning warmness. If you are in Lucknow, definitely visit this place preferably towards early morning.
A big historical landmark in the heart of Lucknow where every broken wall carries the memories of India's first step towards independence.. the sepoy mutiny.. well maintained by ASI .. ticket is 25 Rs.. and definitely a place to visit
The Residency is a big place, with a lot of history. This residency is witness to many history of India's Independence war. To enter the Residency, each person needs a ticket of 25 rupees. The whole place is huge, it will take around 2 hours to explore the whole place. There is a great museum inside the Residency, in which a lot of history is carefully preserved. The Residency is surrounded by green grass and includes the old English era Treasury Building, pre-independence Officers Mess, pre-war sepoy cooking area, pre-war training area for soldiers, pre-independence Banqueting Hall and many other things to witness the history. Residency has clean drinking water and clean bathroom facilities for all tourists.
The best place to visit on our trip to Lucknow. The place is really quaint and abundant in nature. The ruins are extensively spread out and calls for a nice walk in a good weather. Not a typical touristy place and you will love it only if you like quite solitary places. It has a small museum as well. You will like the place only if you are a fan of history. Side Note : This place has been promoted from the POV of Britishers and the revolt of 1857 by Indians has not been highlighted from Indian point of view.

The Residency is a beautiful old place in the center of Lucknow. When you go through its old gates, you will feel amazed and curious. The Residency was part of the events in 1857 and the museum inside shows you what happened during that time.
