The Residency - Buffet restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

Location - located inside crowne plaza hotel the official den of CSK team. Located prominently in TTK road, Alwarpet. Parking - ample parking space is available in underground Ambience - Elegant ambience and wide space enough to accommodate larger groups too. The entrance with sofa lounge is a hot photo spot . Food - we went during the Bengal food festival. The appetizers and chat items were served right on the table. They also have a good collection of mocktails that are served on the table. We spent a lot of time eating the paani puri, Dahi puri, mixed chaat prepared fresh. The special Bengali appetizer dishes include Aloor chop (potato cutlet), chicken and prawn cutlets . The food spread was not so huge as the other BBQ restaurants but it's fulfilling for a star hotel. They had the usual spread along with some special Bengal delicacies. The bengal Rasagullas and LUCHI were amazing. The Bengal style fish curry and prawn curry were my choice for main course. And Kolkata being famous for sweets, the dessert section had special sweets - malai bhog, chena Sandesh and coconut ladoo. We ended the fulfilling dinner with warm chocolate pudding , and Moong dhal payasam . Service - was quick and very attentive. One of the best feature of restaurants in Crowne plaza. Price - being a star hotel, the prizes are in higher end Rating - 4/5 Will return back again for other food festivals.

Great Place to Dine in. One of the very old Restaurants in town with Not so wide but practical spread. They have this tried and tested menu from time to time and the curated menu on Buffet will suit almost everyone. Very good service and they get you something for your choice if it's not on the spread. Great Hospitality too. Must visit for Family and Friends. One of my Favourite places.

This is not suitable for team lunch. While booking they confirmed they have 96 items in menu but during visit there was only very few. Taste is also not good. Overall a bad experience for lunch.

We went there for a buffet dinner as part of our stay in Crowne Plaza. The buffet spread was sumptuous and decently good. The ambience speaks for itself. The staff were very courteous in helping us in making the choice.

Worst experience. The service was awful no one cared even if we asked for something,the place was not crowded also yet they did not mind to serve. The food tasted yuck . The food was not hot.The biryani did not have any pieces. We asked for naan in buffet they did not bring till the end. Even the desserts was not good overall a very bad experience. The charge for one person is 1800 it's total waste of money

Being brought up in the locality of Mylapore and Mandaveli, Park Sheraton (now called Crowne Plaza) was always one such place of dream to visit. And literally this dream is spoilt after visiting and having the buffet in The Residency (a restaurant in Crowne plaza). Starting from the rates, it costed around 7k rs for 4 in that buffet. But was it worth the money, well a big noooooo. The menu photo which u would have saw in google search won't be available. The menu goes like this, 1. tomato soup 2. Hariyali chicken 3. Veg kebab 4. Chicken biryani 5. Mutton curry 6. Prawn curry 7. Veg pulav 8. Noodles 9. Manchurian 10. Fish balls 11. Pasta 12. 13. Veg and chicken mix non veg salad 14. Some mutton mix 15. Fish and mushroom curry. 16. Cakes and dessert (no ice cream) So in this period of these BBQ buffets all round the city, if u feel if this is still good for the rates mentioned then here goes other things. 1.The food is never hot, be it the rice or the side dishes 2. Could this be heated after complaining ?? Well no, they wont cars 3. Need to give multi reminders for utensils 4. Spoils your mood of being in a star hotel to have such food. 5. The make pizza, omelets only for a la Carte and not for buffet people (missed the BBQ chains) BTW, this could have been a scenario on the day which I went. May be temporary or not, not sure. Will I visit this again? Nopeeee - unless until there are any free food or free events organized
