The Rappa - Home Stay in Siddapura - Hassan, India

This was few years back when we visited this place as part of corporate weekend get away. There were 2 to 3 dogs who welcomed us once we reached there. There was also a fourth dog by name vijay who was also the owner of this place at that time. I should tell a bit about this dog vijay. He doesn't have any basic courtesy of saying hi to guests or welcoming them. He will always be boozed and serious looking. Come night fall, when we wanted to celebrate a party, this person started to take drinks in his room by 5 pm itself without even bothering what is needed for guests. Worst, he started behaving badly saying you have be in limits, this is my property etc. Never ever even think of going to this remote place where you need to be at mercy of this dog. One day he will surely be behind bars for his actions. Plan for a proper decent getaway where people treat you nicely.

Pros: Location is good. Staff is good. Ample space for parking. Kayaking and swimming was fun. Extremely friendly dogs raised at the property. The dogs are always around the guests taking care. They will follow guests everywhere even while swimming in river. Cons: The staff is not professionally trained. The accommodation is below average. The bathrooms are dirty. Food is below average. Overall: Good for bachelors not a family place. We had a good time though.

The resort is very interior, roads are very bad all the way. The dogs were welcoming and very friendly. They accompanied us every where. We had been to this resort in the month of march, that's off season, still the view of the sky in the night really good. The lighting of the dam is cool and pleasing. The Island is adventurous. Loved the dogs and the camp fire. Food was horrible. The menu is fixed by the staff. A peaceful stay although for a trip with friends.

Went there with minimal expectation and but still expected decent food and service but it was not available. ***his is not a resort*** Consider visiting your distant relative house in 1980's which next a reservoir. Good Points 1. Kayaking is good and there is no time limit. 2. No sound of traffic and animal 3. Good view of water reservoir 4. Good whether in evening Cons and point for not visiting this location 1. Bad service. They have not learned yet to offer resort type service 2. Small cottage with 3 normal beds for 6 people. See the photo 3. Unhygienic washroom where water clogs . see the photo 4. Only single power outlet where you can plug the standing fan. For other device you have to wait or use extension socket 5. No celling fan or AC 6. Worst food you could get - Tea is worst than road side vendor, you will get it at 7.30pm instead of 6. You cant get food post 10pm. 7. They don't provide soap, towel etc 8. Extra water bottle is Rs 30 9. Near by wine shop is 4Km and they charge you Rs: 30 extra 10. Resort guy charge Rs50 for getting the same for you 11. All items in normal shop is with extra charge like hilly area. Don't know why 12. Rs:2000 for above service is complete waste of money

Probably the only place around Bangalore to visit to if you love pets and rustic feel of a resort away from life's hustles & bustles. If you want, you can come with your fur babies too. The food is awesome. The stay peaceful. And most of all, the staffs are happy to help whenever you need. The atmosphere will bring out the kid in you. Best for Corporate team parties; however, if you go with ones near and dear to your heart, you would end up bonding even more. The place works its charm the moment you step in and you'll end up leaving a part of your soul which will make you visit again so that you can find that piece of yourself whenever you need to.

Nice place for weekend outing with friends or family. Good service and food. Cottages and tents are available. Very good view of Sharavathi river backwaters. Swimming and Kayaking is available in the backwaters. Bonfire and kareoke makes perfect party. Can visit Shetty Halli church when the river water level is low.

Been to this place and stayed for 2 days 1 night with my biker friends . The place apt for college bachelors. Its not so women friendly, and definitely not for family . For lodging there are cottages, tents and swiss tents. The cottages are shabby with no ceiling fan or AC. Its very hot inside the cottages during summer. For two cottages ,they provided us with 1 table fan.The toilets are unhygienic. It seemed that the resort is not maintained properly. Food was very good. Lunch , dinner , snacks and breakfast was filled with mouthwatering dishes. The tariff on this resort is on a bit higher side and you will feel that the service, the stay, the amenities doesn't match up to the price you are paying. The location of this resort is very good. There is a large water body nearby. The 23 kms stretch of road to this resort from the main highway is very bad.

Except boating and back water nothing is good...!!!! Worst food and service. Very rude and arrogant staffs. No food menu available. Ask for anything, they will charge you more. If you want t buy anything, you have to travel at least 14KM even for petrol on a very bad road. Except for the friendly dogs everything else is bad. You can't even find a board of the resort. Especially in summer weather is very bad. Its not the expected climate, very hot and dry. Please do not choose this place if you are planning for peaceful trip. Please don't fall for pictures in the website..I wish there was a negative rating scale. Pathetic hosts with no hospitality and professionalism
