Had an awesome experience and stay at The Pear Tree Homestay. At first I was a bit skeptical that there are no AC or fan in the rooms. However, the rooms surprisingly stay really cool and during the night we had to use blankets to our surprise. Service was also awesome.
It is a house turned into hotel.....few small rooms...but there is one spacious room with sofa.. centre table.. Coffee table too......3 could stay comfortably..... Very clean place We had only breakfast... Had a lovely stay....
We had a lovely stay at Pear Tree Hotel during our recent trip to Shillong. I went Shillong with my wife, daughter and father and stayed in Pear Tree hotel for 4 days during Diwali holidays. It is located almost 1.5 KM from Police Bazar. Rooms were neat and clean and big in size. Washroom is big and clean, and all amenities are present. WiFi signal was good enough. We stayed in 1st and 2nd floor luxury deluxe rooms, it has a quite beautiful balcony. The breakfast is good, like toast, omelet, tea, coffee, fruit juice, Milk & cornflakes, Poha and sometime Puri sabji also they served, and the service is prompt and good. The room service boy (I forgot his name) was pretty good and very prompt. The manager Mr.Vicky was very nice and helpful. During our stay, normally we took our dinner from the hotel, the cook Das Da prepared tasty home-made food. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and thanks for making our trip in shillong a memorable one.
Stayed for one night with family in a suit room. Room was spacious enough, clean and tidy. Linen provided was good. No balcony for the suit room. Breakfast was pretty avg - just toast, omelette and corn flakes. Staff were very helpful. View from the room is nothing worth mentioning. Stay was comfortable. Don't expect anything more than bed and breakfast.
The stay was very clean .. ambience was really good. the caretakers viki,sama and dhuraj were easily concfable and responsive. the price is worth for the stay. The room is spacious , bathroom is also really clean and big. Overall very good and peaceful stay.
Rooms were clean. One on the second floor with balcony was nice. For Breakfast, they served poha, toast, tea & coffee. Nobody is available on call in the morning.
The Pear Tree is a beautiful, tastefully done B&B in Shillong, located at a 10 minute walk from Police Bazaar. Cleanliness and hygiene is up to the mark. The washroom, towels and bed linen is spotless! Our room had a cute balcony with a pretty lamp, perfect for a cozy dinner/ breakfast. The manager and staff is extremely helpful and co-operative. The breakfast served was simple but it was delicious and freshly made. The only con is if you have a big car, parking becomes a little tricky as the entrance to the hotel is slightly narrow. We had a great time, highly recommended.
Suite room was pretty spacious and generously furnished. Not too many options for breakfast, only bread omlette and milk cornflakes with tea/coffee/juice. Rooms didn't have any view, but ample light in the morning. Owner coordinates well.

Had a very pleasant stay. The cottage is very well maintained and furnished. Rooms were neat and clean. The owner of the property,Mr Darell is very soft spoken and helpful. Overall the stay was very cozy. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely stay at this property. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was top notch. Indian, khasi food and continental. Did not use the pool. But was looked very nice. Had great drinks and dinner at poolside bar.
