Lovely experience. Entrance is 50 rupees so affordable, and the place is really big. The downside is that it can get really crowded especially in areas where the animals are clearly visible or moving around. Food and drinks from outside are prohibited to decrease littering unless it's water in a water bottle, so i suggest bringing a thermos water bottle because it's a life saver when u need to drink since there are no paper cups by the drinking sink. Food inside are okay and affordable. The zoo has many parks and lounging areas as well. A lovely place to take your loved ones, family and friends.
It's opposite to Byculla railway station but one has to walk under a flyover to get here. Cash tickets was way faster and hassle free than through UPI as it needed name, email and phone number. Why does a zoo need all this info. Saw a solitary and other animals. Some exhibitions have a 21st century makeover and modernization. Appreciated the efforts. Especially the crocodile habitat. However it needed more than 2-3 crocodiles. Penguins are still a good watch for kids. Lions were a no show. Hippos need modern housing. Food court is nice. Clean washrooms.
Amazing experience for kids to see wildlife in the heart of the city. Tiger enclosure, The 2 Bird aviaries and Penguins are the special attractions here among all other animals , birds and reptile enclosures. Crocodile, lion and hyenas enclosures were ready and are supposed to be up and running this year itself. A good day off for Adults, and a must visit for kids and wildlife enthusiasts.
Great place to spend time with your family and friends... But Animals and birds are very less compared to earlier. Plastic bottles are not allowed inside of premises so make sure if you are carrying water or food it should be in steel containers. Have fun guys
Beautiful zoo, clean place, spacious, lots of greenery, birds, animal's in the midst of a concrete city. The restaurants serve good quality food at reasonable prices. I just wish some of the crowds behaved around the animals especially the birds.
Fabulous. Wasn't crowded on Sunday morning at 9.30am. Upi payments are convenient. There are many interesting animals. Penguins are the beeessssttt. Bird sanctuary is also very nice. Other than many other interesting animals. They have a very nice food court as well now other than the cafe that has good options ! I hosted my kids' bdah party. No water at cafe' or food court. Carry your water bottle and refill when you see coolers. Well maintained. So proud!.
The highlight of th Byculla zoo is the family of Penguins. It's also a botanical garden. Worth spending half a day. Few animal enclosures lion and wolf were under maintenance. You can book tickets online also. Also has a great food court and it was surprisingly not costly, affordable and value for money, and has options. Bird enclosure is also an highlight. Great place for family friends and outing.
