The Lindsay - Hotel in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

My stay at The Lindsay from October 18 to October 20 was a mixed experience. The rooftop bar stood out as a highlight, offering a superb ambiance and stunning views. However, the room fell short of expectations for a 3-star hotel--organizational aspects could have been improved. Despite this, the standout feature was the exceptional staff. Their professionalism and friendliness made a significant positive impact on my overall impression of the hotel. While room organization may need attention, the attentive and helpful staff contributed to a pleasant stay.

The rooms are big, but they do not look like the images shown in make my trip app. We stayed in a junior suite and the room aesthetics were not justified by the price. We did have breakfast included in our stay. Breakfast food choices were good and food was tasty. The location of the hotel is just pathetic. It's a 9 plus floor building but, the location is just cramped. I booked it because of its central location. But it played out negatively because the roads are re routed by traffic police and are mostly one way. You'll always need 20 mins for the cab to reach or depart from the location. Unless you are a local and aware of the paths or someone young travelling with minimal luggage/backpacker then only book this hotel. I was hugely mislead by the top comments and pictures on make my trip app( because of which I booked this place). I did not have any discomfort in the stay, but the amount I paid did not justify the location or aesthetics.

The rooms are very old. They did not provide a decent service to us. There were no sandals for us in the room. The receptionist must have been more cordial to us. On the other hand, complementary breakfast is best here. Most of the foods are very tasty and standard.

Nice Place,Service was excellent Have a rooftop Bar cum restaurant.This is the best place where u can stay comfortably and the staff was so supportive.. specially they make my baby's food so that my baby stay comfortably. Good place to stay. The market is just outiside the hotel with everything available, almost. Park Street is nearby at a walking distance. You can order food from outside as well.

If your sole purpose is shopping then you can stay in this hotel. Rooms are very old and need renovation. They don't provide any sandal in room. But the behavior of the hotel staffs are good.

Location is not bad for a budget shopper as it's in the new market area. But it's difficult to get any cab to travel to other places from the hotel bcz of the huge crowd. The rooms are pathetic! The pictures that are available on the web are only a scam! The chair inside the room was wet as if someone pee-d on it or no idea what was done in it!!! The window glasses were broken as if someone practiced wrestling blows on the glass!! The elevators do not work properly. They charged hidden charges even after clearing all the dues!!! 496/- rupees just because they had made mistake in calculating the charges! I would highly discourage people to stay there bcz there are many options available right in the back streets like Sudder street/Park street etc. those are more convenient in every way!

Decent hotel located right in the middle of New market near park street, the hotel is close to elspande Metro Station. THE rooms are average compared to the price charged. Would recommend only if you are there for shopping as the front row is so crowded that a taxi is impossible to reach thd hotel in evening.

The Lindsay is a vintage hotel which needs maintenance in all aspects. Toilets are to be renewed. Rooms are spacious but maintenance is needed like window furnishes etc. Food service is good. Staff are good. It's ok for the given price.
