This place is known for its versatile Gujarati Thali. There is a long queue everyday for lunch and dinner. If you want to have lunch, reach there by 12, so you can get your turn in 20-30 minutes. Taste - 5 out of 5 Cost - 5 out of 5 Service - 3 out of 5 I don't like if someone is on top of me while I am eating, that's the only point I gave 3 for service. If you are in Rajkot, this is must try place.
We visited "The Grand Thakar" for having delicious Thali. We went for Girnar, Saurashtra tour and while coming back visited Rajkot. Our search for delicious Thali actually ended here in Rajkot. If anyone is looking for unlimited Thali at reasonable price with a great service this is the place. It seems this place is quite quite famous because being a weekday also place was hugely crowded. They offer many items in the Thali, two sweets, different Farsan items. Taste of the food is really really good. Service is really good and people are very co-operative there.
Good location. Good place for an event of approx 250 people. Food quality is Good. They have wide range of dishes in Gujarati thaali. But it is Overcrowded place.Good ambience, famous Gujarati thali since years! Costly too, but the quality is worth it. Parking congestion during peak lunch hours or due to any event booking there.
the food was just amazing.. after a long time I had a sumptuous Gujarati thali.. very tasty, very good quality ingredients.. the waiters also served with a smile

Everything was wonderful, the rooms were clean. the service was impeccable and the waiters were very polite. The food was amazing and every dish was so delicious. Met the owners also they were so polite, humble and very sweet.
I must say in the middle of the city it's hard to get good taste of food with good ambience ,this hotel will give you best experience food wise. However service is really very poor.hotel management will have to take the decision and do provide the services as they don't have proper staff hence we got the food after a while.!!!! This is the only ridiculous thing!!!
The place is fairly costly. You must have 300 per person for lunch and 400 to 500 for dinner per person. Also the ambience is not that luxurious. The food is tasty, but very few know that they use excess amounts of ajinomoto in their food. Also using a taste enhancer, so you would love the food. Their waiters are not eating the hotel food, as they bring their food from home. I know this because i have an inside contact. Still you could visit once or twice to enjoy the food, but it's not recommended for daily eating.

This is a good hotel situated at a nice location near the highway. We stayed here on our trip enroute to Somnath and then on our way back to Ahmedabad. The room is clean & has hygenic bathrooms with hot water. It is total value for money.
