This is a huge national park lying at the northwestern edge of Uttarakhand. It has many popular treks running in it including Kedarkantha, Har Ki Dun, Bali Pass, Phulara Ridge, Barasu Pass etc. There are also expeditions to Great Himalayan Peaks such as the Black Peak. There are several villages lying in the national park where humans live in harmony with nature.
Went there a part of Bali Pass Trek Amazing landscape with meadows, forest, streams, ice capped mountains, rearing sheeps Entry is from Sankri village. Little crowded as this is the way for many treks, hikes etc.
So many famous Trek start from here just like Harkidun, Balipass ,phulara, kedarkantha.. etc
Govind pashu National park and wildlife Sanctuary is a national park in supin range near uttarakhand town of uttarkashi district uttarakhand. It is famous for plants like plant species like Rhododendron, Oak and tropical Euphorbia scrub.
A beautiful place that has many trekkers flocking to it to visit Kedarkantha and many other popular trails/peaks. People start from places like Sankri, Gaechwan, Kotgaon and head for the summit before returning. Tall forests and small animals and singing birds (the park is believed to have bears and leopards as well) greet you as you enter. Please note that permissions are required to enter this space - please seek them out before you plan a visit.
ultimate place on the way to saru lake view
The national park covers huge sqft of area and boasts of amazing variety of landscape. The entry of the national park is at 1900mts altitude and as one trek inside, will climb close to 4000mts altitude. By the altitude, one can understand that this is a mountainous region and thus there aren't much human population, one will find small villages along the ridge who are mostly engaged into farming, wood carvings, animal husbandry, etc. The entire place is rich on Himalayan flora and fauna, while the major forest cover is that of deciduous trees. While, writing this review, I must mention the vibrant colours of the rhododendron blooms in the spring time that in a way of inspired us to trek the first day while taking pictures of them. The local guides and trekking community claim that there are about 32 trekking trails in this national park and many of which are yet to be discovered. We embarked on the Har ki Dun trekking trail at 3948mts altitude and these few pictures are from our Har ki Dun trek during summer of 2019. Har Har Mahadev..
Wonderful experience must visit place specially in winter but make sure you have proper 4-5 layer of clothing to protect you from cold because in winter here I experienced 0degC temperature.
