One word to describe the hotel is beautiful.Very nice place to stay. The cloudy climate added to the nice experience. The rooms were clean and neat . Place is surrounded by peacocks, they mind their own business. The pool , restaurant and indoor play were good. We enjoyed our stay there. Nature is very pleasant with full of birds and fresh air.Very good place to stay for a short period.

The property itself along with the views (and peacocks) are outstanding. The staff are very friendly however the service is not good. There are no drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) served anywhere other than the restaurant. This is a shame as the pool area and gardens are a beautiful place to enjoy a refreshment. The food in the restaurant is very good however everything else is not. Tables are not set or cleared- we sat for 2 hours with our table covered in dirty plates and empty cans. To order anything you have to ask multiple times and regularly it did not come at all. Finally room service is terrible, waited 1hr for drinks to be delivered then gave up and went out for dinner. Overall a great property but food and drink service is poor.

The rooms were good and the staff was very hospitable. The service was excellent. Staying among large number of peacocks in the hotel area was an extra treat and very heart warming. The food was not that tasty. Overall the hotel property was very beautiful.

We stayed for one night at this fabulous place. It is a paradise! So many peacocks - you can feed them roasted chickpeas (staff told us and gave us chickpeas). We had a lovely room with a huge veranda and we got a beautiful view of Madurai city! We had lunch in the restaurant at the hotel and it was very good - slightly on the expensive side. All the staff were very helpful. Wish the check in and check out process was a little more efficient. Overall we had a great time and highly recommend this place. The price is very reasonable for foreign tourists.

We had a great experience staying at Taj Gateway, Pasumalai, Madurai.The hospitality & food were awesome... We were always surrounded & greeted by all the staff with a smile. We cannot forget the special care shown by the security personnel - Eshwar .. Overall, we had a pleasant stay amongst nature...

A wonderful experience at The Taj Madurai. Very beautiful ambience, overlooking the city. Very comfortable rooms, good service and very efficient staff. To top it all, the feeding of peacocks. Enjoyed our three days there.

The place is awesome. Specious room. Everyday rooms and bathrooms are cleaning properly with maintain all hygiene. Staffs behavior are very good and trustful. Foods taste are awesome. Will visit once again.

One word to describe this hotel is Beautiful. The peacocks add a unique charm to the environment. Pleasant, enjoyable and full of nature with birds chirping and greenery. They have a very good gym which was such a necessity for fitness conscious people. Well behaved staff , responsive , greeting us good morning each one of them. The breakfast is wide spread, healthy and tasty. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms are well equipped and all in all everything is to the T. Someone who wants to relax , have a good enjoyable time will definitely love this place . It gives u a complete 5 star comfort and service . The peacocks are a complete package of beauty and a treat to the eyes. Hotel is worth the price in every way and highly recommended in madurai.
