Awesome Nothing special to mention as bad. Amenities including the covered parking (valet parking), swimming pool, steam bath, gym, TT indoor board etc are great. Location also is great as Freedom square beach is just 600m walkable. Staffs are very helpful and committed. Breakfast covers most of the common cuisine. Value for money.

Nice place for a family trip if you get a good deal. Not ideal for business trips though as the area around the hotel gets crowded with heavy tourist traffic. It was really difficult to get to the main city quite often especially in the evening. The rooms are ok but a bit dated and old. The facilities are also quite acceptable. Food was quite nice

Pros: Rooms are good and specious. Good and courteous staff, clean space. Cons: place need a face lift; it doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel. There is a nice swimming pool but in maintenance - when checked before booking, the staff said it is open. Play area like pool game or table tennis etc are not accessed and the place look deserted. Overall, not a great fun experience. If the intention is only for a good night sleep like many airplane staff do there, would recommend, but if you are looking for some fun while you stay - there are better places in Kozhikode.

Excellent and pleasant stay in Taj Gateway. Food was really good and tasty. You will get more variety of foods in Breakfast/ Dinner. Highly recommended.

A serene and tranquil atmosphere in the hotel is worth mentioning. Rooms are spacious and well maintained offering the luxury expected by everyone. The hospitality of the staff is quite commendable. A special thanks be to Mr.Sanjay, the Front Office Manager who was kind enough to ensure that we have a very comfortable stay here. We have always enjoyed the privilege of being a part of Taj across the nation. We wish blessings of the Almighty upon the entire team working behind the success of the hotel offering valuable service to all the guest. The only surprise was why Taj failed to acknowledge the special event (31st wedding anniversary) for which we booked the room here with a special mention of the purpose at the time of room reservation. In all other Taj hotels where we stayed for our birthdays and anniversaries we had the privilege to receive a surprise cake in our room which really meant a lot to us. Please do not take it as a complaint but consider it a suggestion or reminder to serve your guests better in future.

Shocking service when we visited for lunch with my son who was visiting from UK and we were entertaining some relatives. We had to personally apologise to our guests for the lackadaisical service. Does not reflect the hospitality culture that the Taj brand upholds in other venues. Will never return here.

It was an amazing experience being at Eros Hotel.. The ambience was really very good and the service was excellent...the rooms were luxurious nd comfortable. Me nd my Friends had good times there... Gonna visit the hotel again with my family too...I just loved the place

The Gateway Hotel Beach Road Calicut is a good hotel for a family trip, but not for business trips. The rooms are spacious and the staff is courteous, but the hotel is a bit dated and could use a facelift. The food is good and there is a swimming pool, but some of the other amenities are not available. Overall, it is a decent hotel, but there are better options available in Kozhikode.
