The Fern Residency, Kakinada - Hotel in Kakinada - East Godavari, India

Rooms need a lot of updating. Had changed rooms three times bfr finding a decent room to stay in. Staff and service is good but management has to meet expectations wrt building maintenance. There were rooms with sticky floors and then some with leaking rooms ard light bulbs and air conditioner. And rooms with traces of termites. This is my hometown and this is a very reputable club. Want them to maintain it well.

Right on the main road, so easy accessibility. Room service is not good. Even though we booked room for two, they kept stuff only for one person, like towel, soap etc.

We stayed for 2 nights at this place on a very hot and humid summer days. Like the saying, old wine in a new bottle. Is this "Fern Residency" a new name for old hotel named "Halcyon Times Club" ? Apparently, this place was started flamboyantly (by some political bigwig I'm told) but now falling apart in every way. Don't be fooled by the age old photos. The linen and towels are so old and we couldn't just use them. There are hardly any other guests other than us, needless to day the breakfast food is stale. Only reason why I gave 3 starts, both ac units worked well, it is all that mattered to us on a hot summer days.

No proper room services. Kitchen get closed by 10 pm.They always deny in raking food orders. Rooms and furniture is very old. Nothing is good. Most of the room keys do not work.

I stayed for my cousin daughter's marriage. He has spent lot of money and made all arrangements. We have struggled to stay for the following reasons: 1. AC was not worked in rooms though complained several times. 2. Last day night, complete AC shut down purposefully and asked us to shift another room. 3. During lunch hour also faced the AC problem.

The Fern Residency is the best Hotel in kakinada (AP). The infrastructure is really amazing, the food which they serve was amazing, excellent. The staff is so good and kind, Hotel staff manner was appreciable. Specially on the staff member " Mr. Suresh Roy and Mr. Aashish " He so polite, hardworking along with Good and jolly nature. Housekeeping team also worked well during my long stay from Nov 22 to May 23. I would like to especially thank Suresh Roy from the Restaurant staff for his excellent service from the lounge to in-room dining. His attention to detail and promptness was great. Fern GM are very friendly; I had enjoyed thoroughly. I recommend this Hotel.

So this is my second stay here and there will be more stays while I'm working in this region. It's not the most modern hotel but: The staff are very accommodating, always smiling. The ladies that service rooms are excellent, everything is kept in order which makes things so much easier when you are away from home and on a busy schedule. Laundry service is great. Food, the food is great too. Both Indian and western food, the kitchen crew really make the effort and it counts. Well done the head chef for motivating the team. If you are in the region and want as close to home as you can, this place is recommended.

We had two functions hosted there, my brother and my son birthday. It was a great hassle free experience as the GM Mr.Henry and staff too care of every details of food and taking care of guests . Everyone enjoyed the food it was delicious and the hospitality is great. I would rate 10/10 and we have more celebrations planned with them so they are more of a family to us . I would recommend everyone who's looking for good food great ambience and wonderful staff , you should definitely consider them.
