It's a heritage hotel. Situated in the heart of the city. Staffs are friendly. Though a bit on the expensive side...it's a very picturesque place. Mall road is at a walking distance. Food and the buffet breakfast is also wholesome.

We stayed at The Elgin, Darjeeling - Heritage Resort & Spa. Unfortunately, our experience during our stay was not good. The service was poor and there was a lack of proper communication from the management. The beautiful colonial heritage look on the outside is just a facade, the property is dated and in dire need of renovation. Everything about our room was very disappointing. The carpet was stained, the flooring had cracks filled with dirt and the bathroom was cramped with the tap and shower also not working properly. Forget any modern amenities, our room lacked the presence of even one proper charging point. The dining room was suffocating with no access to light and was filled with smell of food, especially eggs, during the breakfast time. The management was very off-handed and charged us for things their staff communicated were on the house. The only saving graces were the easy approach to Mall road, decent food and a few courteous staff members, but those were not enough to overshadow the flaws of the property and the management. They are overpriced and have taken the 'old world charm' too seriously, hugely overlooking the comfort of guests caused due to their dated property. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasure stay.

The property is beautiful but we had a bitter experience. We booked through Makemytrip and spent more than 43000. We were given a room on the attic on fourth floor. It was impossible for us to climb up 4 floors everytime and despite requests we were told nothing else was available. So we left losing all the money. Beware of such experiences if you have difficulty in climbing upstairs. All that was shown in their photos were cottages

The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and neat environment. The service at the hotel was impressive, with the staff being friendly and accommodating. I particularly enjoyed the amazing food, which was delicious and satisfying. The location of the hotel is also excellent, with the market just a 2-minute walk away and the train station a convenient 15-minute walk. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay, offering a delightful combination of comfort, great service, and a convenient location. I would highly recommend Elgin for a pleasant stay in Darjeeling.

I had the opportunity to stay at The Elgin, Darjeeling Spa Resort, and while the surrounding area may be crowded, the moment you step onto the property, it offers a different experience. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the non-vegetarian dishes, except to say that they were very limited. However, I must highlight that the quality of the vegetarian food was good. During my stay, I had the pleasure of experiencing both the premier room and the suite. I was impressed with the spaciousness and comfort of the rooms. They provided a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, and the added bonus was the great mountain view from the room window. However, it is worth noting that the rooms did not have fans or air conditioning. Fortunately, during my stay, the weather was pleasant, so it wasn't a major concern. The property itself is well maintained, and the ambiance reflects its heritage. They also have a spa facility at the property, which offers a range of treatments. However, it's important to note that the spa staff seemed to be limited. It would be advisable to make spa appointments well in advance to ensure availability. One drawback of the property is the limited parking space and the narrow road leading to it. If you are bringing your car, parking can be a bit of a hassle due to the space constraints and the narrow road. It's something to keep in mind if you plan on driving to the property. Overall, my stay at The Elgin, Darjeeling Spa Resort was enjoyable. The hospitality, comfortable rooms, and beautiful mountain views made it a pleasant experience. While there are a few minor drawbacks, such as limited vegetarian options and parking constraints, they do not overshadow the positive aspects of the property. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in Darjeeling, The Elgin offers a cozy and comfortable stay amidst the bustling surroundings.

I have stayed there for 5 days. I can say one thing for sure that the management doesn't care about their guests. The rooms are dirty. Food quality and presentation were below average. Btw they charge 80 rupees per bottle of water. That cheap is their management and they call them as a 4 star hotel! Horrible!! I am sure you will find a better place than this. Ps: I am not giving one star just because they have a few well behaved employees.

Hotel not worth satying..room quality is very bad..furtinures,bedsheets,towels all under maintained .will not recommend anyone.

Loved the stay cosy rooms good service walking distance to the mall road. They have a lovely common seating area where you can chill till late night enjoy your drink and the fog surrounding you.
