Good place to stay. Food is good. Nice hospitality

The Eastgate hotel is very well located very close to thhe War Cemetery grounds. The local taxi stand is at a walking distance. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The food served in the hotel restaurant was also good.Overall good and pleasant stay.

The hotel is centrally located and offers rooms of relatively good value, with the staff being attentive, friendly and professional. I was a disappointed with the breakfast, however: for 200 INR, all I got was tepid - if not cold - puri sabji, tea and boiled eggs after arriving around 9 AM. Breakfast starts around 7 AM I think, and it seems like they don't bother much about keeping the food fresh and warm after that. Therefore it's probably best avoided if you aren't an early riser. But apart from that, I had a very pleasant stay.

Very conveniently located and hassle free booking with no hidden cost. What you see is what you pay. Some rooms have good balcony view and some don't so ask for best outside view when booking. Getting here can be quite a problem during rush hours and parking might be difficult to find if you're bringing your own car. But location is the best as it is near all tourist spots and historic sites like WW2 cemetery. Lots of eateries nearby (you can also order in at the hotel restaurant) for both local and non local cuisines. Very calm atmosphere with good staff and clean environment over all.

The hotel is centrally located and most importantly is it always clean and well managed. I am an early riser, and most often the staffs are up early and ready to serve coffee. Food is great, and though the menu on Naga dishes is limited I found them to be well prepared.

It was quite late at a time and the weather was a bit cold as compare to the curent place where i came from i lost all hopes to get rooms at such time as all the hostels and rooms were booked but as soon as we reached The East Gate Hotel i feel extremely relief by the way they received us and their service was very hospitality. I'm glad that i stayed there.

Clean and hygiene room with a perfect view of Kohima.

Visited Kohima with my and my Brother's family for three nights. After lots of online searching zeroed in on Hotel East Gate primarily because of its location in the center of the town. Booking was smooth over the phone and no advance was charged. As we were traveling by our own cars, we were verbally assured availability of parking as only two parking slots were available. On reaching there I was pleasantly surprised to get facilities better than expected and promised. For though I was told rooms with balconies were not available, on checking in we were provided rooms with balcony with beautiful views. Though the facilities are not of the level of 5-star facilities, yet they were very good for the price at which it was being offered. The hotel was perfectly clean with good and prompt service. Fooding facilities also were good with complimentary breakfast. Pricing was reasonable and there were no hidden costs in the bill and the amount charged was exactly what was told. Kohima main market and other important places are at walking distance from the hotel. The only problem I faced was the approach to the hotel with a car during the day, I had to take a longer turn to enter the lane if you come from BOC point side, because of the traffic. I would recommend the Hotel to anyone who plans to visit Kohima. Perfectly hassle-free experience with courteous and well-behaved staff.
