The Crazy Indian Pad (TCIP) - Backpacker Hostel in Manali - Kullu, India

Really wonderful place. We loved our stay in the beautiful and peaceful environs of the mountains. The village is pretty and surrounded by the Himalayas and is accessed by the river. The cottage has four excellent rooms with independent entrance and balcony. A fully functional kitchen with a bar.

Visited this place on 13th November. Starting with the positive bit, this is a cute and nicely kept stay a little away from the hustle and bustle of old manali. We had to trek a bit to reach the location which was fun and adventurous. On reaching it was a quite and isolated place with a great view and ambience. Leaving all this aside what followed was deeply unsatisfactory and dissapointing. The owner who does not stay there is rude and ill behaved. The next morning looking at the bill was shocking because like no other hotel/homestay ever we were charged extensively for heater/bon fire and also heating up the food which was not informed to us earlier. The food available is also disgusting and highly priced. Overall I would not recommend this place for anyone. There are far better places in Manali which one can opt for with better service.

If you are looking for low budget room and sharing bed, bunking bed so it's your destination. Very close to old Manali it's a village named Srilankan village. You just follow river from your left until you can see some home at your right. Good people here they can assist you in many things. Bed starts from Rs. 200 to 500 per person, depend on season and must check price of day or book prior as it's changes every time. Rest you can call for inquiry. You can hire bike and scooty through these people.

My favourite memory from Old Manali was this place, THE CRAZY INDIAN PAD. Very clean, Very Cozy, Very beautiful and very Safe. This place has a mesmerising view from their dining and bar area . Rooms are Nice, balcony options are also there. Rohit (host) is very welcoming, one of the best hosts I've come across . And Food by Balraj (chef) was so tasty . #HappyStay in TCIP . Go for it

Stayed a day before and a day after the trek to Patalsu peak near Manali. Nice spot secluded enough for the calmness but still being close enough to the market for basic supplies. Ideal for budget backpackers looking to get a zest of the mountain life and are on the move.

One of the best places in Manali in the woods away from the crowd. Stayed here for more than a week. The host and supporting staffs were very helpful and kind hearted. If you are a photographer then you can capture some splendid pics in its backyard. The best thing about the place- Macy. Explore the place and get to know her.

Terrible Service. Property is filled with rats and what not. Dirty washrooms and room. The bed and blankets where not even maintained and was filled with dust and foul smell. Only one staff is available who is not very helpful and is very rude. This staff (caretaker) is very dirty and unhygienic himself. The owner of the property as well, very rude & unhelpful. The location of the property is very remote and surrounded by beautiful mountains. You will have to walk/trek to the place. Inaccessible by cars/bikes. Last place the taxi/auto will drop you is old manali bridge. If you need anything at all you will only get it near old manali bridge.

A gorgeous spot where the place is. You could spend your evenings and mornings while watching the sunrise as well as the sunset. Went in COVID times, and it was probably the most hygienic place to stay compare to other stays nearby. Staff is very friendly and the food is pretty nice too. A must visit for people looking for some shanti and craziness at the same time.
