The Cascade - Chinese restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

Cascade is a very old chain of restaurants which first opened its doors to its customers in 1985 or 86. From day one they have served excellent Chinese cuisine at a very affordable costs without cutting on luxury, service and quality. I would not rate Cascade's luxury to 5 star hotels but they are not far from the so called 3 and 4 star hotels in terms of decor, ambience, service and quality of food and don't every think that so many decades of hospitality has taken their sheen. They are still right there competing with the best. They are actually a budget restaurant chain bit they don't make you feel that way. Cascade has now expanded with number of branches all over the city . I tried the Anna Nagar branch. T is inhey have widened their cuisine range from just Chinese to Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Mongolian and Vietnamese too. The restaurant is pretty big and can easily accomodate more than 50-60 pacs. The decor was very nice and warm I ordered a Hunan fried rice and Thai Fried Noodles. The noodles was a little oily for my taste but yummy. The Phuket fish was very nice and the Crispy Lamb in Oyster sauce was excellent. Chicken Dimsums were not bad, the Chinese Prawns were outstanding . The Cascade food quantity is quite large that I packed the food home. The service is very decent. They don't go over board nor are they lacking. The food order and time to reach the plate is pretty good. The Ann Nagar branch ambience is very nice and cosy. The only issue I had with this branch is that it is the 1st floor and they hardly have any parking space reserved for themselves. A big well known branch must have thought this out. One will eventually get your parking in one of the by lane abutting the restaurant. I have no reservations to recommend Cascade . I am sure most of them must have tried but like you I keep going back to Cascade. Well Done Cascade !!!!

Did not have pleasant experience from them. Food is bit average taste. Quantity is fine for the price tag Their wait time to prepare food is 30 mins which is more like testing ur patience and u will not opt for giving second order as again it will take time. If u order food, u will get it only after 20-30 mins or even more. I don't see any restaurants to deliver food this late. If ur looking for a good Chinese cuisine, then prefer kim ling which is also in Anna nagar. If u feel kim ling is crowded, the opt for this place and order everything well in advance. They will add service charge which is optional and pay only of ur satisfied or else u can ask them to remove as its optional . If their wait time is so much and top of this if they put service charge which is not acceptable. I liked their thai chilli chicken and rest all ok taste. There is no parking, so drop in the vehichle somewhere else.

Perfect asian place, varieties of cuisines to try and the food is unique. Loved the dessert as well.

I've known cascade for more than a decade. They have set their own standards. Had Hunan Soup, Salt and Pepper prawn, Spicy garlic chicken and Thai fried rice, everything was really good. Their quality, quantity and service is always good! Would surely recommend to anyone wanting to try Chinese or Thai in Anna Nagar.

After a long time came back with family to have lunch. Yummy food, all of us had mouth and stomach full. Parking your car is bit tough in this lane. Service is good.

Chinese cusine enthusiasts should visit this place for variety of dishes. The portion, taste, service is good.

I have been visiting this place past ten years ! All I would say is it has lost its charm and as usual gone down from good to better to bad ! The quality is good but the taste is not that exclusive or great how it used to be. ! The service is like - u wann the food be here or am all ok if u get out ! Looks like I have to pay to receive a smile from the bearer! And to make it worst - I really don't understand why should I pay 6 percent for service charge ! Does the management pay their staff from this 6 percent service charge from customers ???! Service charge should not be compelled ! Better stop this habit please ! Thank u

Excellent food and quick service. They add service change to the bill. There is nothing to write home about the atmosphere. Cost is a bit on the high side, but then it seems to be the norm for these types of restaurants these days.
