The Astor - Hotel in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

I recently had the pleasure and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. **Room (5/5):** The room was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. I was particularly impressed with the spaciousness. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing me with a restful night's sleep. **Service (5/5):** The staff were top-notch. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their professionalism was evident in every interaction. **Facilities (4/5):** The resort offers a range of facilities, including a fantastic pool area, a well-equipped gym, and a spa. I spent most of my time by the pool, enjoying the serene atmosphere. The only minor drawback was that the spa was fully booked during my stay. **Food and Dining (4/5):** The on-site restaurant offered a diverse menu with delicious options. Breakfast, in particular, was a highlight with a variety of fresh fruits and pastries. However, I wished the dinner menu had more vegetarian choices. **Value for Money (5/5):** Considering the quality of service and the overall experience, I believe it offers excellent value for the price paid.

An absolute culinary delight. I had the pleasure of dining at Th Astor recently, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The menu offered a diverse range of options. The food I tried was really fresh and even the quality and quantity was up to the mark. The staff was incredibly friendly and also suggested which one will be better to order as per our liking and taste. I can now confidently say that this place has become my favorite go-to-places for a memorable dining experienced.

We got the ground floor room. Right next to the reception. The whole night there were sounds and noises and raucous laughter outside our door. Sleep was impossible. Housekeeping did not do a good job on the days we were away. The washroom was barely cleaned. Only the day we stayed in, did they make an effort. Except the single room on the ground floor, all other rooms were upstairs and the place doesn't have elevators... Which is a big problem.

The best thing about this hotel is its convenient location. Food is good. And one can spend some quiet evening time in the bar. Starters, I had ordered veg platter was really nice. Enjoyed my time there.

Near to US Visa Consulate Kolkata. This place is a 4 star hotel. It has got multiple bars nearby, one in campus so your nights are not dry and boring. Although costly but worth the experience. You will get the feel of old buildings but still modern to make you feel comfy. A lot of good restaurants nearby and Park Street is also close, walkable

I have booked 9 rooms as a part of corporate meeting.The food served during the meeting was extremely delicious & the hospitality of the staffs were also remarkable. Special thanks to Ms. Puja Roy Chakraborty for the entire arrangements. Looking forward to conduct more Business meetings in Astor. In a nutshell Room+Food+ Hospitality+ customer focus was superb.

I came deck88 to hangout with my friends last week. this place is awesome , starting from ambience , food , cocktails each n everything was perfect. also thanks to sanjana she called us , n let us know about this place , she is very polite thanks dear!! we will come again !

It's a heritage hotel with beautiful rooms. Housekeeping staff is polite and always smiling and helpful. The front door staff are very courteous as well. The F&B staff is great and super attentive during breakfast buffet. Only pain point is front end reception who wouldn't accept that you have an issue/ they would have counter argument even if your issue is legit. It's a 4 star hotel, and expectations are much higher. I raised the concern with the front desk about cigarette smell in the room, so my room was upgraded to heritage suite. Though I appreciate the gesture, they had to accommodate my parents in a double bed room with stale smell and no windows for ventilation. It wasn't an executive room with no King size bed and no sitting area. We checked in 12.30 at night after 2 delayed flights , so there is only so much you can argue when you are exhausted . The interim solution provided was air freshener for the second room since there were no rooms available. Next day, we were requested to move to Executive rooms ( as per my actual booking) , but one of rooms was not ready for next 2.5 hrs though we moved out our luggage from the previous rooms. When the hotel staff was confronted , they accommodated request for late check-out as apology gesture. The F&B staff prepared a Bon Voyage chocolate platter as a good bye gesture , which I would appreciate. I wished that I had better experience especially because we selected Astor's on friend's recommendation and that Kolkata was our Pit stop after a long tedious vacation and all we wanted was a cozy place to relax, especially when you are traveling with senior citizen parents. From VFM perspective,I would have preferred Kenilworth or ITC sonar over Astor's considering the competitive room prices.
