The Ashok Beach Resort - Resort hotel in Puducherry, Kalapet - Pondicherry, India

I stayed here for a day as the experience was not that good. As the amenities were not up to the mark coz the swimming pool was not that clean and the room which we got was with failure AC which looks like they didn't even had a maintenance from ages. Although the ambience of the restaurant was pretty good but the quality and the quantity of the food was too much costly and only the morning breakfast with the view of sea was amazing.

The Ashoka beach resort excels in terms of its location, boasting a beachfront position and convenient direct access to the beach. Additionally, the resort offers ample open spaces and a functional pool, making it suitable for children's play or hosting events. However, it's worth noting that the resort is quite old, and the management has been somewhat negligent in its maintenance efforts. The bathrooms show signs of age, including leakages, and the rooms are modest in their furnishings. Furthermore, it's important to consider that the resort is located quite far from the town. If proximity to beach is not a priority, for the price I would suggest exploring alternative properties.

This is one of the oldest beach resorts in Pondy, near Auroville. They have a good beach view restaurant. The food and service is very good. But haven't stayed in the rooms yet to talk about the accommodation and quality of rooms. This resort has a lot of potential to attract tourists if renovated and make it more modern.

Hi All, As per my experience this resort is good, few things are required improvements which I will mention later. Room : 5/5 Service: 4/5 Hygiene: 5/5 Over all resort ( location/interior/campus ) : 4/5 Beech access: around 60 mtr from gate. Food : We stayed 2 days and both the days we had same food no change in daily menu. Chose ground floor rooms instead of first floor, ground floor rooms are having direct access to garden and view is also very good. Things need to improve : There are many stairs to reach your rooms, will be difficult for old people. I personally don't like Tip to be given for small works they expect tip from you for every single work.

Property is more than 30yrs old- yes 30 years not 3 . Washroom is not clean and not well maintained. Fittings are broken. Food is good but very expensive when compared to ambience and service provided. Next bad story is about Swimming pool - its a tank filled with water and not pool. No water rotation and green coloured water. Only pleasing look is beach view and it's accessible in within 50mts. On top of all - continuous power fluctuations. Worst experience - not worth a dime paid. Its a Government guest and not a resort.

It's a great property, the best is their Beach view rooms (all rooms have same view) Need improvement on Food - not much options in the breakfast, it repeats all the days Also their staff demands for cash for small services like room cleaning etc Best for - Access to beach, hammocks, maintained swimming pool, beautiful rooms, good open space, stunning night view.

Our stay at the resort was great. And a special mention about the staff - very good, helpful and were attending to each and every customer. The property is well located along the beach with a vast garden at the front and a pool.
