Thatipudi dam watch tower - Tourist information center in Jadderu - Vizianagaram, India

The only reason i gave 3 star is because the location is too good and it's a really good place to visit even from vishakhapatnam . But i hope it was developed accordingly. It could become amazing place for the locals and families to come a spend a good time. But there are no facilities no arrangements. The could make a small recreational place along the reservoir or a eco park along it.

Located over Vizianagram road within a short distance from Vizag-Araku main road, this location is the best place from where you can enjoy scenic beauty of the Thatipudi dam built on Gosthani river, which one of the principal sources of water to the city of Visakhapatnam. There is no demarcated parking space. You've to park your vehicle near the approach road and walk for around 300 meters to reach the actual location. There is no parking fee. Presently the tower is not open for visitors because of some unfortunate incidents. Boating is also not permitted because of the depth of water there. You may take a stroll over the connecting bridge made over the dam and that's all. The reservoir beautifully surrounded by hills on one side and lush green valley on the other side have made this place a treat to the eyes. This breezy place will surely be mesmerising during sunset and sunrise. Overall verdict- definitely recommended if you can find out some time and take a detour while travelling to Araku or Borra caves.

it's a great refreshment being there. but no vehicles allowed. and even gate closed for visitors. only need to jump through wall and need to visit. boat riding was non ops..

One of the most peaceful places to visit. No restaurants nearby one should carry food.

When we visited it is just a reservoir, no.boat shikar and cottages available...best time of the day to visit is in the evening and enjoy the view for a maximum of 30 to 40 mins, while we stroll along side the dam. PS..It is currently not open for visitors.

It is a spot that is both lovely and serene. I came here without knowing about the place, and I won't regret it. We passed by here on our way back from Borra Caves to Vizianagaram. When we went in the evening, there wasn't much of a crowd. You can get some fresh air if you are tired of breathing the same polluted air of the city (yes, Vizag is now getting populated and polluted). The area consists of a reservoir, a dam, and a body of water with some gorgeous scenery. The hilly surroundings make for a scenic landscape for your photos. You must park your vehicle on the village road and walk for around 150 metres to reach the sightseeing location. The sound of running water, birds chirping, and tranquil moments make it one of the best spots to visit in Vizag. When we asked the residents nearby why the gate was closed, they informed us that the location was no longer open to tourists. Prior to certain incidents, boating was permitted here, but it has now been permanently prohibited. Be careful because there are no security guards, rescuers, or anybody else watching over this area. Given the fact that a few CCTV cameras have been placed, anyone who believes they can enter without being noticed should reconsider because whatever that happens will be captured on camera.

Massive reservoir. Good place to visit. Need lot of maintenance. Water department can charge a small entrance fee to uplift facility. Can be lot garden downstream side. Most reservoirs make gardens as they have plenty of water
