Thathengalam Beach View Point - Tourist attraction in Mannarkad-I - Palakkad, India

Very beautiful place for an eveningf outing. Parking is poor

A new island formed in the river Kunthipuzha at Pulinchode in Thathengalam after the recent floods and become a popular tourist spot in the region. I felt I was in Rishikesh, Ganga tath.

A very scenic spot on the kuntipuzha River.. there were heavy floods some years back and lot of boulders, rocks, and pebbles have got deposited in this particular area. The road leading to this place is narrow in the last 4 kms and though cars can go , there is no parking place except one or two slots. Two wheelers are a better option.. It's about 40 kms from palghat and about 15 kms from Kanjirapuzha dam.

My Experience: Visited around 2018 September. . There is no sea or similar large water body. . This is a shallow river side with white sand - similar to a beach. . A beach looking area was formed as a result of natural calamity. . There is good flow of family groups and hence . There are a few shops with cool drinks, curds, etc. . Car parking is limited . Very arrow road - be careful . However this is a variety place for picnic, especially with children

Thathengalam beach was formed as a result of the land slide and the flood in the recent years. This entire place is like a beautifull spot for all those wanting to play in water. The scenic beauty of the hills and the rocks that sparkle in the water are all a pretty view. This place does not seem like a place in kerala.

It's a wide bank of the river with lots of pebbles which is located near Mannarkkad, Palakkad district . You can chill out with friends and or family if you are going in groups in a season other than the end of the summer. It's a place of scenic beauty with nice water and a lot of pebbles making the flowing water amazing and lovely... You can bring your kids( toddlers or older age) too, but be a little more careful . Please note that, it's better not to go between 11am to 3pm, especially during summer season. Have a wonderful experience for water loving people and who love to wet their foot... You can take bath or swim too, when there is enough water in the river.

This place is so relaxing. The water is shallow and safe. This place is family friendly as well as a beautiful spot to chill with friends. The river bed is filled with white pebbles which give the place a beautiful appearance. The cool breeze coupled with the cold water was spine chilling.

A great place for kids to enjoy playing in the water, a great place to go with the family, the water here is nice and cool, there are some inconveniences to the car park and the road is narrow and only one vehicle can pass through at a time.
