Tharangini Houseboat - Houseboat rental service in Alappuzha - Alappuzha, India

Rooms were not very good, service was just fine, location is okay. Boat just travelled for 3 hours in total in 24 hr. Boats are very hot in the afternoon you cannot stay in rooms during that time as they switch on AC after 9 pm although they mentioned after 6pm. It's difficult if you have small kid. Food is also not very premium quality for the amount that they charge. In breakfast just one option. In total its very overhyped place it's not even worth for that price. I would suggest instead take a day tour in the boat.

We had a one night stay at this boat house . Welcoming guest with smile was good . Lunch, dinner and breakfast was provided here. Taste was good but very limited options, in lunch they have fish fry and chicken in dinner and idli for breakfast. We had a problem with a AC. Even common area AC was on on during day time. AC was on between 9pm to 6am. Without AC during day time was felt like we had been put into cave even though we went in Nov 25th which we were expecting weather would be cold but it's not the case within boathouse. Cruise was around only 6-8km but they have mentioned that it's more than 20km cruise(1hr) but its was hardly half an house in the morning . Overall was good but we felt it's over hyped about the boat house as there are no places to see.

Relaxing Beautiful and comfortable stay. Loved every moment of it. Truly Gods own country... Right from the boarding the boat to the de boarding all was a smooth sail... This experience really gave me and my husband peace of mind body and soul. The food the rooms the staff everything was excellent. You need to experience it at least once. It makes you forget about the world and enjoy nature at the most.

Boat and room are great. Village boating is pretty serene. Average food. However, they missed a couple of sightseeing spots because they lost 45 min in between.

It was a nice experience. The food was awesome with a good vibe. The upper deck experience during sailing was awesome. The view from the room was beautiful. During the night candle light dinner with sound was awesome. Special fish fry and prawn( which you need to buy from the shop )was delicious. The staff were very polite and helpful. Overall it was a good experience at Alleppey backwater. Booked through goibibo with a great deal.

I want to share my whole experience so tat u kno wat to expect bcoz we had lot of wrong expectations and were disappointed. Firstly staff were very courteous & friendly. No complain on them as they were nice. The issue comes with the whole concept. We decided to go with day tour which included lunch and hi tea. First tip, whether u chose non veg or veg, its all the same. Its a buffet so if u choose non veg, u get a fish with it. Secondly, there is no AC and with kerala humidity, outsiders wont b able to bear it. Check in was told as 12 however they started at 1:30. Imagine waiting all the way without any AC, we were drenched in sweat. Ppl who took rooms also said that they didnt have AC as AC wil turn on only from 9Pm. They were also struggling just like us. Now the most important part, the amount of time the houseboat actually moves is almost an hour or 2. Rest of the times they park it in the mid or towards some side. Literally we felt it was a scam! Not just these guys, all the houseboats have same pattern. They park for lunch. They park for tea time. The park for no reason too. We almost waited an hour bcoz one person took the ayuveda package, tat guy went off and rest all of us kept waiting for him. Lunch was good with rice,roti and few other items. Hi tea was absoulte waste. The bajji and tea they gave was disastrous. Over all we wasted few hours drenched with no comfort and didnt meet our expectation. Its a one time experience. Nothing else. What we expected and what we got are 2 different things.

Very poor rooms and other amenities. Food options also very limited with no taste. Staff is ok. Much better houseboats available. Not at all worth for the money.
