Thalassery Restaurant - Kerala restaurant in Ooty - The Nilgiris, India

Visited the Thalassery restaurant for breakfast and had a rather disappointing experience. Most breakfast items on the menu were unavailable, including coffee. Ordered putt and nadan chicken curry, paying Rs170 for curry that had only three very small chicken pieces, which was quite disappointing. The curry lacked thickness and seemed overly peppery. Additionally, the Appam was not properly cooked. At the payment counter, we overheard other customers complaining about the chicken curry, and when we raised the issue, the staff seemed uninterested. Despite the good ambiance, seating, and interior, the overall dining experience fell short of expectations.

Last Week Occasionally Visited Restaurant. The Food Was Very Bad We Ordered A Thalassery Dum Biriyani The Quantity Was Very Low. And Ordered Poratta And Veg Kuruma. The Kuruma Was Too Salty. Poratta Was Not Cooked Well. Totally Not Worth For Money. If the Owner is Watching this Review Please Make Sure to give Better Food. NB: Machaaane Poyi Pedanda.

This hotel is shifted from its previous location. You can see its banner at opposite side of the road. This is at first floor. Entrance of this hotel is through the kitchen area. Taste is good. Appam with chicken curry is best try option. Egg dish is not that great.

Bad service.. Highly overpriced... Less quantity...( Full biriyaani qua8is less than usual half biriyaani) Food is only average Strictly not recemendod

I won't say it's the best place to eat but if you are looking to explore Malabar cuisine than Thalassery is one of the options in Ooty. The food were delicious and I will rate the food 5 start however the ambience was not good. The restaurant is in the 2nd Floor and you have to climb narrow stairs to reach the restaurant. Overall it's good but not the best.

Very bad experience from Thalassery Restaurant Ooty near appolo pharmacy.During our dinner time we found live rat near our table,we don't know how they maintain cleanliness & hygiene,really worst experience and we inform the staff and they don't care about it.

I recently visited the Thalassery restaurant in Ooty with high hopes of enjoying a delicious meal. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon reaching the second floor, I was dismayed to find the atmosphere to be totally unhygienic. The lack of cleanliness was evident, and it immediately made me uncomfortable. The open kitchen, which should have been a delight to watch, was also in a bad way, adding to my concerns about food safety. Adding to the disappointment, the staff's appearance was unkempt, and they weren't dressed appropriately for a restaurant setting. It gave the impression of a lack of professionalism and care, further diminishing the overall dining experience. Feeling uneasy about the overall conditions, my companions and I made the difficult decision to leave and find another restaurant that prioritized cleanliness and hygiene. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for Thalassery restaurant to improve its standards and provide a better dining experience for future customers. As for my experience, I was left disappointed and unable to enjoy the meal I had hoped for.

I have no benchmark for Kerala food but good here was really testy and reasonably priced compared to A2B. I had breakfast here traditional Kerala food and every item was very tasty. Had the meal for lunch and that was yummy too. Had banana leaf wrapped fish which wasn't as good as other items but the fish was pretty big for the price. Overall recommend if you're looking to try Kerala food.
