Thalakulam Valiyaveedu : Birth place of Veluthampi Dalawa - Historical landmark in Thalakkulam - Kanniyakumari, India

It is closed for maintenance it seems. Anyway not functional now. Could see veluthampi dalvas statue from a distance.

Unfortunately not maintained at all...but the history of this great personality will make us all feel proud.

Need to be managed properly. Closed and needs to wait or have pre appointment. Entire house is not completely maintained. Proper history and records need to be available for visitors to understand the story of the Diwan Velu Thampi.

Sri Veluthampy Dalawa the Divan of Travancore .. called Dalawa popularly was born here. This is his ancestoral home. The place is called Talakulam. It is near Tingalchantai or Thingalnagar or MondayMarket. Bus and Autoriksha to near the memomorial is available. It is just 100mts from bus stop. Time 10am to 5pm. There is a caretaker to look after yhe monument. A statue in the ground and the old house with many Artefacts of the freedomfighter Dalawa are found here.

Historical place with a legacy of Travancore Kingdom. Government has to take positive steps for its preservation and development.
