Always we passed by this restaurant and today decided to give our try. As expected restaurant was not so good. Somehow it was looking untidy, unorganised and average regular type. Many items mentioned in the menu were not available which was little bit disappointing. Somehow servicing was quite fast. Also ordered sweet corn soup but it was just horrible. They had some corn and mixed it with fried mahi- oh such a shame. We had ordered - pork thali. Presentation was good. And the variation of side dish was good. But some pieces of pork were not cooked nicely - it was hard to chew! They were too stinzy even in giving pork- only 2 miduim pieces were included. Anyway - we paid Rs 720 for our meal which inluded (2 person s) -2 Pork Thali, 2 Coke,1 hot milk chocolate,1 sweet corn soup which is alright. Also the light in the restaurant was too dim- I was feeling suffocation. And the toilet and bathroom was too much smelly. They even did not had placed any air freshener. This place is only one time vist. It's not for sure that you want to go again and again here. I don't recommend this place instead pay little bit more go to Purano chulo or Penang.

I stepped into this restaurant called excellent restaurant with my family very recently and had an extremely bad experience. The food is not fully cooked; the owner definitely needs to learn how to take care of customers. Apparently he 'doesn't care'! His behavior was shocking as my expectations were pretty high reading all the good reviews. After waiting in the queue for over an hour, not only do I expect good food but also good behavior. I don't think I will visit this place again, there are many good restaurants in Darjeeling that serve good food and respect their customers as well, and I recommend exploring these places. Some of are, Park, The Locals, Kathmandu Kitchen,Glenary's,Nepali Kitchen to name a few.

I really appreciate to Thakkali I had my best Thakkali food in darjeeling I suggest to all you guys to try this delicious food in here. Specially my favorite Mutton Sekuwa...

absolutely poor service level of staff. had to wait for 45 minutes for one plate of thakkali. Nice ambiance, perfect lighting and OK food. But good points end here. Terrible service. Poor engagement. Non-responsive and untrained staff. Went for a lunch for making someone feel special, but turned out to be the blunder. The service was pathetic. Many patrons left in the middle. Not suggested to go unless you have full day and patience for a single meal.

Thakalli hahaha just the name food was poor, rates are rocket high, ambiance like a bar with no proper bar license ,perhaps no pure thaakali food..recommend denied.

It's near mal. Generally, it's very hard to get a good restaurant at a reasonable price. This is an excellent restaurant as I saw. you can get here rice, Chinese and Bhutanese items. Cooks are done here in Nepali Style. The price is very much economical. Quality and ambience are satisfactory.
